Did Tom Hardy Reveal a Spoiler about The Dark Knight Rises?; 3 New U.K. Character Posters

So far, the cast of Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises has been pretty good about keeping mum on the movie's script, not revealing any significant plot details or spoilers. Up until now the biggest spoilers have come from leaked set photos, but when Tom Hardy was asked what it was like working with Gary Oldman on three projects (The Dark Knight Rises, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, and this summer's Lawless), he may have accidentally revealed a key plot point from the movie.

Ken Follett's World Without End Premiering on Reelz

We've got great news for fans of Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth — not to mention miniseries fans in general. Reelz is set to be the premiere home for the eight-part adaptation of the sequel, World Without End, which was on The New York Times bestseller list for 26 weeks.

Set in Kingsbridge 200 years after the events of Pillars, World Without End picks up with a new cast of characters. Caris, a feisty young woman played by Charlotte Riley (The Duchess, Wuthering Heights), inspires her medieval town to confront the most powerful forces of her time, the Church and the Crown, as Kingsbridge fights to save the town from ruin and, ultimately, usher in a new era of freedom, innovation, and enlightenment.

World Without End also stars Cynthia Nixon (Sex and the City, The Big C) as the beautiful and deadly schemer Petranilla, Miranda Richardson (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The Young Victoria) as the strong and determined Mother Cecilia, Ben Chaplin (The Thin Red Line, Me and Orson Welles) as the mysterious Sir Thomas Langley, Peter Firth (MI5, The Hunt for Red October) as the ruthless Earl Roland, Rupert Evans (Hellboy, Agora) as the duplicitous Godwyn, Nora von Waldstaetten (Carlos, The Countess) as the street-wise peasant girl Gwenda, Oliver Jackson-Cohen (What's Your Number, The Raven) as the rough and dangerous Ralph, Tom Weston-Jones (Coppers, MI-5) as the creative and ambitious Merthin, Megan Follows (Heartland, Anne of Green Gables) as Maud, a lady fallen from grace, and Sarah Gadon (Cosmopolis, A Dangerous Method) as the attractive and intelligent Philippa.

New Interactive Trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman

For anyone that's seen the trailers and TV spots for Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman, it's clear that the dark, action-driven movie isn't the typical adaptation of the Snow White fairytale. If the most recent trailer, released in March, left viewers with any questions, the studio has released a new, interactive version of the trailer via Yahoo!, which provides plot details and behind-the-scenes information about the movie.

Some of the information might seem extraneous; other bits are pretty interesting — that Charlize Theron was cast before Kristen Stewart, that Stewart had to endure swimming in a sewer set with dozens of live rats for an escape sequence. The trailer also includes more about the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) and the eight (remember what we said about this not being a typical adaptation?) dwarfs in the movie.

Six-Minute Preview of The Amazing Spider-Man to Run Before Men in Black III This Weekend

Continuing the trend of giving fans a sneak peek of upcoming movies, Sony announced today that a six-minute preview of The Amazing Spider-Man will run before all 3-D IMAX and select 3-D showings of Men in Black III this weekend.

Last December, Warner Bros. successfully generated good buzz about The Dark Knight Rises by attaching an extended preview to IMAX screenings of Mission Impossible 4. However, Sony's decision to preview Spider-Man before Men in Black III seems to be about boosting MIB 3's opening numbers as much as building buzz for Spider-Man (Warner Bros. didn't release Mission Impossible 4, so the Dark Knight Rises preview was an unexpected bonus for Paramount's bottom line).

The Men in Black franchise has been dormant for 10 years so anything Sony can do to push fans to go see Will Smith and Co. is probably a good move. While tracking for MIB 3 is strong, with a reported budget of $375M (including marketing and advertising), Sony faces a steep uphill battle to see a profit.

True Story: MacGruber Sequel in the Works

Everyone has that "guilty pleasure" comedy that was maligned by most. For this writer, it's Starship Troopers, and yes, it is a comedy — watch it again if you disagree. For others, that guilty pleasure is, apparently, Saturday Night Live skit-turned-movie MacGruber, which bombed at the box office back in May of 2010, even though it received mixed reviews. MacGruber fared better on DVD, where it earned about half of its worldwide box office.

For those who have the movie on disc and have defended that purchase to their friends, there's some good news. MacGruber director Jorma Taccone told Screen Crush that he and star Will Forte are planning a sequel.

Three New Dark Knight Rises Character Banners Released

OK, we're not going to lie; we were a tad disappointed with yesterday's "new" poster for The Dark Knight Rises, which more or less was a knockoff of the movie's first poster (this clever GIF shows how little work went into creating the new poster).

But today the movie released something via Yahoo! that really has us panting — three new character posters featuring Catwoman (Anne Hathaway), Bane (Tom Hardy), and Batman (Christian Bale). Each gorgeous poster shows the character walking through pelting black rain with the word "RISE" above them.

Bill Murray Offers a Tour of Moonrise Kingdom; Several New Alternate Posters Debut

After debuting at the Cannes Film Festival, Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom received glowing review after glowing review, saying Anderson was "at his very best" in this "very beautiful and funny movie about grief and sorrow." Moonrise Kingdom opens this weekend in the U.S. Those familiar with Anderson's previous work (Rushmore, The Royal Tennenbaums, The Life Aquatic to name a few) have a good sense of the kind of movie it is. Still, it's been hard to penetrate a marketplace dominated by sequels and big-budget tentpoles — more namely, The Avengers.

No wonder Focus Features had Bill Murray give a funny video tour of the production — guided, if you will, by spiced rum. Murray breezes through the cast — Frances McDormand, the "psycho" Edward Norton, the "tall and Scottish" Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, and a "typecast" Bruce Willis — before taking a few digs at the movie's sets and Anderson's costume design and individual pant-length preferences.

After Monday's release of the first trailer for Skyfall, it looks unlikely that James Bond's 23rd outing will disappoint. Should you need extra assurance, new Bond Girl Berenice Marlohe promises Skyfall is one of the better Bond movies.

Fans really can expect all the key ingredients that have made this franchise last for 50 years — action, sense of humor, the characters are very high in colors. They have a fantastic cast and a fantastic director. They really can expect one of the better, if not the best, Bond ever. I really think they will really enjoy it.
