First TV Spot and International Trailer for New Total Recall Starring Colin Farrell

Swarthy Irish hearthrob Colin Farrell's first stab (bad vampire pun intended) at remaking a popular genre movie was a bust, with his Fright Night remake just barely covering its budget and even failing to beat the 1985 original at the domestic box office. But, Farrell will have another shot at remaking a classic this summer as he fills in for Arnold Schwarzenegger as Douglas Quaid in director Len Wiseman's (Live Free or Die Hard) Total Recall remake.

Though there's no way for Farrell to compete with the "Austrian Oak" in the body department, all signs point to Wiseman's adaptation of the late great Philip K. Dick's short story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale" making us forget we ever saw Paul Verhoeven's 1990 adaptation a half-dozen times (except maybe for the mutant prostitute with three breasts; that's a character that's hard to forget). But, don't take our word for it, check out the first TV spot and the "Official International Trailer" for the new Total Recall and judge for yourself.

Breaking Dawn - Part 2 Character Posters Released

It's been a few weeks since anything new from the last chapter of the Twilight Saga was released, but today there are three new character posters out for Breaking Dawn - Part 2. Since there are three of them, it's no surprise that Bella (Kristen Stewart), Edward (Robert Pattinson), and Jacob (Taylor Lautner) are the characters represented.

In the posters, Bella is looking decidedly un-human with red eyes, granite skin, and striking vampire beauty. She's also wearing what is surely a very chic leather jacket that coordinates nicely with the wool coat that Edward is wearing in his poster. Jacob is, of course, just wearing a t-shirt, but being a werewolf he wouldn't need or want a coat. The only other elements on the posters are the November 16 release date and the word "Forever." Simple but effective.

Charlize Theron Chokes Michael Fassbender in New Prometheus Preview Clip

Whether it was by an android or a corporate shill, the crews of Alien and Aliens found themselves pawns in the hands of the Weyland-Yutani corporation and their pursuit of an alien life form. Since director Ridley Scott's Prometheus is set in the same universe as Alien (perhaps a prequel — vote's not in yet), the presence of both Charlize Theron as Weyland Corporation employee Meredith Vickers, and Michael Fassbender as Weyland's latest android David seemed to imply that the crew of the Prometheus were going to be doubly-screwed by Weyland Industries. However, a recently released featurette suggested that Theron's Vickers might actually be working in the crew's best interest, even if she seems to lack a favorable amount of social skills.

In the latest clip from Prometheus, which aired on an episode of The Tonight Show where Theron was a guest, sees Vickers confront David in a hallway and demand to know what "he" said, revealing that there's some behind-the-scenes entity pulling the strings on the Prometheus mission.

In New Trailer for The Watch, the Guys Battle (and Photograph) an Alien

In March, the teaser trailer for the upcoming comedy The Watch (back when it was called Neighborhood Watch) was a simple affair, showing Jonah Hill, Ben Stiller, Richard Ayoade, and Vince Vaughn driving around their neighborhood in a minivan trying to look like badasses in their matching jackets. The teaser did little to promote the fact that the group would eventually stumble across a possible alien invasion, something that the work-unfriendly red band trailer released earlier this month addressed almost entirely.

Clearly, the alien subplot is a selling point of the movie. The latest, work-friendly trailer for The Watch further explores the alien invasion, even revealing what the aliens look like when Stiller, Hill, and Vaughn fight one in a CostCo and later take pictures with it.

Elton John was hospitalized Wednesday morning for a respiratory infection, says TMZ. After undergoing multiple tests at L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Hospital, doctors recommended that the singer take a week off from performing. As a result, he was forced to cancel four upcoming concerts in Las Vegas.

There was a big surprise on last night's American Idol finale, but it had nothing to do with who won the competition. Idol alums Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo got engaged on stage during the telecast Wednesday night. Young told People that he called producer Nigel Lythgoe last week to arrange the surprise proposal.

Less surprising was the fact that Phillip Phillips won the microphone trophy. This makes the fifth time in a row for a pretty-eyed, white boy, singer/songwriter type to win the competition.

Emmy-winning actor Jim Parsons came out in an interview with the New York Times. In the article, it is revealed that Parsons is gay and has been with his partner for the last 10 years. There has been media speculation over the actor's sexuality for awhile, but really, the fabulous velvet suits he tends to prefer was a bit of a tip-off.

Supermodel and television host Heidi Klum turned up the heat in a new music video. The mother of four sings, smokes, gets a tattoo and writhes on a pole for the new single "Turn Up the Night." The video was an exclusive for Hunger Magazine and is reportedly a one-time thing for Klum. She apparently has no plans to follow up with an album or anything of that sort.

A settlement has been reached in the Transformers: Dark of the Moon lawsuit. Gabriela Cedillo, an extra who was critically injured during filming, will be paid $18.5 million by Paramount Pictures. Cedillo had been in a stunt car that was hit by a cable, and sustained head injuries when the cable came through the windshield. She has been left with permanent brain damage as a result.

Gary Oldman Joins Robocop Remake

Months after actor Joel Kinnaman (AMC's The Killing) was confirmed to play the lead role in the upcoming remake of Robocop, another cast member has finally been added. THR reports that Gary Oldman has joined the cast of the remake directed by Jose Padilha (Elite Squad).

Like director Paul Verhoeven's 1987 original, Kinnaman will play Alex Murphy, a Detroit cop who is saved from the brink of death by being turned into the cyborg protector of the futuristic city. Unlike the original, Oldman will play a character named Norton, the scientist who creates Robocop and ultimately finds himself stuck between the needs of the corporation and Robocop's attempt to rediscover his humanity. In the original, Miguel Ferrer played Bob Morton, a wormy executive that helped usher the Robocop program through Omni Consumer Products, but didn't have scruples about it later.

Tom Cruise Said to "Have Issues" with The Master; Lines Up The Magnificent Seven Remake

Throughout his long career, actor Tom Cruise has received three Academy Award nominations, the last of which was for Magnolia, director Paul Thomas Anderson's 1999 ensemble drama. Anderson's latest work, The Master, recently debuted its first trailer. Cruise and Anderson apparently remain friendly, as the director screened the movie for him, The Wrap reports; however, Cruise apparently wasn't completely impressed.

According to the report, Cruise's disenchantment stems from his devotion to the Church of Scientology. The Master centers on a family man (Philip Seymour Hoffman) who starts his own cult-like religion, which has long been reported to be loosely based on Scientology. Apparently, two sources close to the movie claim that Cruise "had issues" with some parts, and that Anderson was hoping to head off conflict over the movie from the growing religious organization. The report also claims that The Master's distributor, The Weinstein Company, intends to show the movie to John Travolta, another follower of Scientology.

For now, The Wrap report should be considered a rumor since Cruise's spokesperson and another for the Church of Scientology have both declined to comment.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation Delayed Until 2013; Ted Takes Its Release Date

Last month, Paramount Pictures released the second full-length trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation in a promotional campaign that seemed poised to take advantage of its June 29 release date. The weekend seemed a good fit for the G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra sequel, with its competition being male stripper comedy Magic Mike, dramedy People Like Us, and Tyler Perry's Madea's Witness Protection.

However, with only five weeks left before Retaliation was to reach theaters, Paramount decided to delay the sequel — and here's the curious part — nine months. It's now set to open on March 29, 2013 instead. The sudden move would seem to raise a red flag, but the studio insists the delay is so the movie can be converted to 3-D.

"It is increasingly evident that 3D resonates with movie-goers globally and together with Paramount, we made the decision to bring fans an even more immersive entertainment experience," said Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner in a statement.
