REELZCHANNEL Recommends is a short-form program that, on a twice hourly basis, gives movie fans our recommendations for movies that are now available on VOD/PPV and premium channels on your platform. On-screen graphics include the movie title and rating and where the movie can be purchased. This allows us to reach your subscribers 262 times each week!

REELZ RISK-FREE MOVIE
At REELZ, we’re TV about movies we and we love recommending them to our viewers. Several times a year, we recommend a really great movie, and stamp it with our money-back guarantee. It’s called the REELZ Risk-Free Movie. We recommend a movie new that’s new to Video On Demand and Pay-Per-View, and if our viewers watch it and don’t like it, we’ll pay them back. Each week the Hollywood Dailies Top Five VOD/PPV Picks counts down the hottest movies available on VOD/PPV. Similar to the Box Office Results each Monday we share with viewers the top 5 most ordered movies on VOD/PPV from the past weekend.

Naked Trailers
We showcase the trailers from movies that earn you more money, in their entirety. Each week Naked Trailers showcases a full-length uncut trailer as our VOD/PPV Pick of the Week.

Reelz.com
Reelz.com is a fun, unique and robust resource for movie fans to find movies to watch on TV. Reelz.com/vod lists movies fans can watch on Pay-Per-View and On Demand every day. Our channel pages list movies playing on premium channels, the time and a quick description of each. Channel pages include: HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, Encore and Starz.

Studio Co-Promotions

REELZ is partnering with major Hollywood studios to design exciting, unique and effective co-promotions! Every few months, we team up with a studio and an affiliate to promote a movie new to Pay-Per-View and On Demand, and encourage viewers to order it through on-air recommendations, customized cross-channel spots, exciting sweepstakes and online and social media campaigns.

Despicable Me Promotion
Summary: In January 2011, REELZ partnered with NBC Universal to announce the new release of Despicable Me on Pay-Per-View and On Demand. We devoted two weeks of on-air content and executed an online and social media campaign to drive VOD/PPV rentals before the release of the DVD rental from Netflix or Redbox. All original programming included calls to action with an animated snipe across the screen and a specific host mention of, "Watch Despicable Me NOW On Demand and Pay-Per-View. Now available for a 48 hour viewing period."

Get Him to the Greek Guitar Giveaway
Summary: During September and October 2010, REELZ partnered with NBC Universal and Charter Communications to bring viewers the “Get Him to the Greek Guitar Giveaway.” We devoted two weeks of on-air content and calls to action within our original programming and executed an online and social media campaign to drive the sweepstakes. Viewers had to watch Movies & Music every day, or go to facebook.com/MoviesAndMusic to get the “Word of the Week,” which they would enter at reelz.com/win. Once entered, they had the chance to win one of 20 REELZ prize packs—full of fun REELZ swag—and the grand prize: a Fender® Stratocaster® guitar signed by Russell Brand and Jonah Hill, the stars of the movie. Precious Promotion
Summary: In March 2010, Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire was released on DVD, VOD and Pay-Per-View on the same day. REELZ partnered with Lionsgate and DirecTV to bring viewers exclusive content and interviews, behind-the-scenes clips, and excellent reviews from Richard Roeper and Leonard Maltin. Every piece of on-air content to support this promotion included a direct call to action to 1). tell the viewer where the movie could be order, 2). go to reelz.com/precious to learn more about the movie and watch clips and interviews with the cast, and 3). to tune in to REELZ on channel 238 to watch our coverage of the movie and others like it.

Results: Precious was the most-purchased PPV movie in the first week of new releases by 60,000 buys, and maintained strong buy rates through the end of March. DirecTV attributed 50% of incremental buys to REELZ/studio promotion and support. Click to download: Results (PDF)
