Review Rating: 0
WHERE ARE THEY?
Great movie a must see good from start to finish. No big names just a big movie of the year
there are huge names in the help Viola Davis, Emma Stone who has become very popular in "Easy A" and "Crazy Stupid Love" oh and cant forget Ron Howard's daughter Bryce Dallas Howard. Its a fantastic movie with a star cast.
These are some that I hop will get nominated
Hugo: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (Sir Ben Kingsley), Best Supporting Actress (Chloe Moretz Grace), Best Adapted Screenplay, Art Direction and Visual Effects
Super 8: Sound Editing and Visual Effects
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2: Supporting Actor (Alan Rickman), Art Direction and Visual Effects
I'm hoping that Ryan scores a nomination for The Ides of March and that he wins. He was brilliant in that film!
a magnificant movie for all ages.
i sure hope this great film shows up on every screen in the USA and so that the people could decide which film should really get the Oscars this year
for me this wonderful honest and breakthrough picture of the decade deserves
Best Original Script by Shokof
Best Directing by Shokof
really an eye opener this small movie with a heart of a lion
here is my vote for the most important film of the century, Hitler,s Grave,
Best Film for Hitler,s Grave
Best Directing for Daryush Shokof for Hitler,s Grave
Best Original screen play for Daryush Shokof for Hitler,s Grave
the movie is simply the most daring film i have ever seen without wanting to influence you dramatically, actingwise, production design wise, editwaise, special effect wise, :
though i also love the music
this film should be a study course at all universities around the world
1. dennis dugan just go with it and jack and jill 2.frank coraci zookeeper 3. tim hill hop 4. james bobin the muppets 5.oliver parker johnny english reborn i am right! harry potter and the deathly hallows part 2 should be changed of being the best movie of the year and jack and jill is the best movie of the year and new highest grossing film of the year!
I am never sure why the Oscars always go to movies that no one has ever seen and when they do see them they think....WTH did I just watch? I understand that most of the more popular movies don't make the cut. But come on. How are we forgetting 2 absolute wonderful movies. The Help had wonderful actresses and a great story. And let's not forget the movie that finished out a decade of Harry Potter fans everywhere. DH part 2 was a cinematic wonder. I know the popular choice doesn't win, but no one is going to give a crap in 5 years about half of the movies that you listed and probably the one that is going to win. But The Help and HP will live in our hearts for many many years. Shouldn't they get the recognition that they deserve? Just my opinion....
Sincerly, the rantings of a lady tired of watching boring Oscar contenders win .
I disagree that people will remember The Help and Harry Potter more than any other film the Oscar voters could pick, Harry Potter is going to be forgotten just as quickly as all the other franchises over film history, does anyone remember Andy Hardy? or The Road series? or Lassie? or Tarzan?, They were all major Movie Franchises that were big at their time but were forgotten when the next big series came along.
The Help especially will be forgotten, it's just another movie about racism and it's cliches are what stopped me from seeing it.
All the other 'crap' as you put it will not be enjoyed by people like you because they are different to all the other usual crap we get from Hollywood, these movies try and be new and interesting, unlike all the usual boring Action Blockbusters and thoughtless Sex Comedies we get all year.
Well The thing that you are 100% wrong at is that Harry Potter will be forgotten. You said many things that I disagree with but saying that Harry Potter is going to be forgotten is not only foolish but selfish as well. Harry Potter as of now is even bigger that Star Wars. I can guarantee you that if there is a film franchise of the past decade that will be remembered most it is Harry Potter.
"Harry Potter is going to be forgotten just as quickly as all the other franchises over film history..."
I honestly believe that Harry Potter doesn't have much of what it takes to win any artistic Oscar nomination, but I beg to disagree on some of your statements, especially the ones I quoted/will be quoting. I think you fail to see the impact that this series has caused to a generation. The series you named, they didn't get as far as Potter did. And "They were all major Movie Franchises that were big at their time but were forgotten when the next big series came along." Are you serious? Don't you see? Many "next big series" have already come and gone, among them classics, but Harry Potter still remains on top. Harry Potter is in the ranks of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, arguably even higher. You can't just forget something that's defined more than a decade of readers and cinema viewers.
How can you, Kingofpointless, say anything about The Help if you did not see the movie? Only an idiot can have an opinion about a movie he or she has not seen. You really did sound like a snob more than an intellectual. I guess your name says it all! You are indeed, pointless!
LOL... sorry but Harry Potter is not in the same ranks as Lord of the Rings. HP is far below Star Wars and it will drop again when the two Hobbit films come out in 2012 and 2013.
Needless to say, Harry Potter is not terrible and is very successful, but that doesn't mean it ranks with the great storytelling of Tolkien and Lucas.
Harry Potter has a timeless charm much like a lot of Disney movies and will be watched by generations to come.
To say it won't be remembered is like saying nobody knows about Star Wars!?
Hp has enormous following and is to date one of the highest grossing franchises in movie history. Only Avatar and Titanic have beaten the DHP2 at the box office.
