2 TV Spots for Teen Party Movie Project X

Warner Bros. recently uploaded to YouTube the latest TV spots — incredibly, the 16th and 17th TV spots aired so far — for first-time feature director Nima Nourizadeh's first-person teen party movie, Project X.

Produced by Todd Phillips (The Hangover movies) and Joel Silver (Sherlock Holmes movies), Project X features a cast of fresh-faced newcomers who landed parts in the movie after a nationwide talent search. The micro-budgeted movie was primarily shot with hand-held digital cameras and centers around three "anonymous" high school kids who try to earn cool cred by throwing the most epic 17th birthday party of all time. Of course, you mix lack of parental supervision with horny teenagers, drugs, and copious amounts of alcohol and you can pretty much guarantee that things are going to get completely out of control.

NBC has issued an apology for M.I.A.'s obscene gesture — seen in animated gif format here — during the Super Bowl halftime show. No word yet from Madonna, whose widely praised Cirque du Soleil–themed show was upstaged by the gesture malfunction.

Perhaps inspired by M.I.A., Brazilian supermodel Gisele defended husband and losing QB Tom Brady — and lashed out at the Patriots' dropsy wide receivers — saying, "My husband can't f***ing throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time."

The night before the Super Bowl, Katy Perry dedicated a song to Tim Tebow called "Peacock," which includes the lyrics, “I wanna see your peacock, cock, cock, your peacock, cock.” It's rumored the singer's parents want her to hook up with the Denver quarterback, but she reportedly flirted most heavily with Carolina Panthers QB and Rookie of the Year Cam Newton.

Liam Neeson is under fire, and his movie The Grey is facing a boycott, after the actor admitted eating wolf stew to prepare for the role. Neeson said wolf tastes "very gamey."

Heidi Klum is apparently not pleased about soon-to-be ex-husband Seal doing the talk show circuit immediately after their separation, and there are absolutely no plans for the couple to get back together.

Gina Carano in Expendables 3?

Those that enjoyed Sylvester Stallone's 2010 action-star filled The Expendables were likely disappointed by Stallone's confirmation that the upcoming sequel, The Expendables 2, was going to end up with a PG-13 rating. Now another disappointment: Gina Carano, the MMA fighter-turned-star of the current action movie Haywire, was considered for the sequel, but won't appear in the movie.

Den of Geek recently interviewed Carano and asked her about whether she might appear in a possible Expendables 3, but, since The Expendables 2 won't open until November, there's no way to know if the sequel will duplicate the $274 million worldwide box office of the original and earn a third installment. Still, the question prompted Carano to reveal that, at one point, she was considered for The Expendables 2.

Dr. Seuss Goes to the Super Bowl with New TV Spot for The Lorax

While most of the movie spots — The Avengers, Battleship and John Carter, to name a few — that aired during yesterday's Super Bowl were geared toward male adults in the 18-35 age range, Universal Pictures bet on the fact that plenty of kids would be watching the game, too, and plunked down big bucks to air a new TV spot for Illumination Entertainment's (Despicable Me) latest animated feature, The Lorax.

Co-written by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio (Despicable Me), and co-directed by Paul and Chris Renaud (Despicable Me), The Lorax brings Dr. Seuss' classic children's story about the dangers of corporate greed and environmental destruction to the big screen in dazzling "Tree-D." The story follows a young boy named Ted (voiced by Zac Efron) living in an artificial world who learns from his Grammy Norma (Betty White) of a time when real plants and animals were commonplace and sets out to find a real Truffula tree to try to win the affections of the girl of his dreams, Audrey (Taylor Swift). What Ted discovers instead is the reclusive Once-ler (Ed Helms), who tells him the sad story of the Lorax (Danny DeVito) and offers him the last of the Truffula Seeds.

Aliens Attack in Super Bowl Spot for Battleship

After releasing a brief preview a few days ago, Universal and Hasbro ("the company that brought you Transformers" says the ad) unleashed the full TV spot for Battleship during the Super Bowl. The board game-turned-alien-invasion-action movie stars Taylor Kitsch, Liam Neeson, and Rihanna as they lead a naval assault that is humanity's last line of defense against an alien attack. The spot looks as Transformers-esque as ever, which is clearly by design, since this summer will lack another sequel, and Universal and Hasbro are hoping Battleship will fill the void.

Epic Otherwordly Action in John Carter Super Bowl Spot

A week ago, Walt Disney teased that new footage would be revealed in the John Carter TV spot that would air during the Super Bowl and the "House of Mouse" delivered...big time. The spot begins with a montage of previously released footage played out inside the logo for the movie before a barrage of new footage reveals the epic otherworldly action in store when the transplanted Civil War veteran played by Taylor Kitsch (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, upcoming Battleship) uses his Mars-given super powers to battle giant "white apes," win the affections of the Martian Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins) and try to prevent a global conflict between warring races from tearing the Red Planet apart.

Extended The Avengers Super Bowl Ad "Assembles" the Whole Team

The first (and only) trailer for Marvel's upcoming adaptation of The Avengers was released in October, and, since then, fans have had to content themselves with different versions of the trailer dubbed in German and in Russian, that is until a twelve second teaser for the Super Bowl spot was released last week. During the game, a longer spot aired, but an extended version was released to Marvel's Facebook page. The spot reveals new footage from the movie, including the first "assembling" of the entire team — Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) — as well as a few split-second peeks at the army that Loki (Tom Hiddleston) has gathered.
