Previously there were two types of moviegoers in the world: those who knew the moment a new Transformers movie was announced that they'd be in the theater opening weekend, and those who knew just the opposite. But after the first two Transformers, there's now a third group: people on the fence about these flicks, even if the third promises to be the biggest one yet.
For this week's Transformers: Dark of the Moon release, fanboys don't need convincing and film festival-goers can'tbe convinced. But what about the rest of us, that on-the-fence third group? Well, here are five reasons why it may be worth shelling out one more time for the Autobots.
What are the 5 reasons? >> Posted 06.29.11 by reelz

The Daily Mail is speculating Pippa Middleton and Prince Harry are on the verge of becoming an item, having met up several times since their siblings were wed in April. They already have pet names for each other. Pippa calls Harry "Captain," which is his military rank, and he calls her "Commando," referring to the widely held belief she was not wearing any underwear on her sister's wedding day.
Two days after it was reported Transformers 3 executive producer Seven Spielberg fired Megan Fox from the franchise for comparing director Michael Bay to Hitler, she's taken a cameo role in Sasha Baron Cohen's comedy The Dictator.

Despite poor reviews, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was an inarguable hit last summer, scoring $402 million domestically. What also can't be argued, is that it sucked. Transformers fans have been quick to contest the quality of the Transformers sequel, and even Shia LaBeouf admits that he "wasn't impressed with what we did" in Revenge of the Fallen.
Now director Michael Bay is getting in the apology act. In a recent set visit, Bay talked to USA Today about the failures of Revenge of the Fallen. More Michael Bay Mea Culpa >> Posted 06.11.10 by Ryan
Paramount has yet to officially announce a replacement for Megan Fox in Transformers 3 after declining Fox's option for the upcoming sequel, but Victoria's Secret is certain that Paramount has selected English model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to replace Fox as the object of Shia LaBeouf's affection above a long list of other contenders. The lingerie company has released a video congratulating Huntington-Whiteley, and showing some of the work that helped her land the gig. Watch the video >> Posted 06.01.10 by Ryan
The "divorce" between Michael Bay and Megan Fox went very quickly, with Paramount declining Fox's option for Transformers 3, even after Fox was spotted doing some preliminary work of the upcoming sequel a couple weeks ago. Fox's representatives told People that "it was [Fox's] decision not to return" and not the advisement from Bay that sent Fox packing.
Either way, with Fox moving on, it looks like Gemma Arterton (Clash of the Titans and the upcoming Prince of Persia) could be a contender to replace Fox. Arterton won't be alone, however. who else is vying for the role? >> Posted 05.21.10 by Ryan
Call this the "We didn't see THAT coming" moment of the year.
Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Michael Bay has advised Paramount not to pick up Megan Fox's option for the third installment of the Transformers franchise. Even though Fox has been openly critical of Bay (comparing him to Hitler, reporting that her audition consisted of washing his car, and complaining about the exposure to skin cancer she received in order to keep her body tanned to his liking), he was still welcoming her back to the franchise back in October in a letter warning her about the rigors to be expected on the set. is there life after Transformers for Fox? >> Posted 05.19.10 by reelz
It's officially full steam ahead on the as-yet-untitled third Transformers movie. Director Michael Bay announced on his personal website that he recently went location scouting.
Busy scouting - Chicago, Detroit, and Washington D.C. for Transformers last week. Things are going well. The script is feeling very different from the other two.
Only days ago, Bay said that Transformers 3 will be more about "character" and less about explosions, a statement that seems to agree with his new blog post about the script "feeling very different."
Ehren Kruger, who assisted with the script for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, was hired to write Transformers 3, and the fan site TFormers claims to have an early draft of his screenplay. The "leaked script" once again features Sam Witwicky, the character played by Shia LaBeouf, though only Megan Fox's return has beenconfirmed so far. Posted 01.28.10 by BrentJS
The future of the Transformers franchise was initially up in the air following the release of the second movie, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, despite a successful showing at the box office. Screenwriters Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman declined to return for a third movie, and director Michael Bay said that he needed some time off from Transformers.
Plans for the franchise quickly got back on track, however. Bay changed his mind about making a "small movie" between the Transformers and even announced the return of Megan Fox, despite the very public feud between the two of them. And, while Orci and Kurtzman are out, Orci said that the script for the third movie is in the capable hands of Ehren Kruger, who assisted the duo with the script for the second movie.
Just when things seem to be humming along, the possibility of a studio leak has surfaced. The fan site TFormers is claiming to have acquired an initial draft of the Transformers 3 script. The document, dated November 24, 2009, bears Kruger's name and once again features Sam Witwicky, the character played by Shia LaBeouf, helping Optimus Prime and some new robots in their quest to combat the evil forces of Megatron. After the hugely successful Transformers: The Revenge of the Fallen hit theaters this summer, director Michael Bay said he wanted to work on a "small movie" before launching into Transformers 3. Bay was eyeing either the bodybuilding comedy Pain & Gain or an adaptation of the teen action/sci-fi novel I Am Number Four, a commitment that opened the door for a possible Bay-less sequel.
Consider that door closed. Bay used his own website to announce that he is working on Transformers 3 next, and that it will appear earlier than anticipated.
Well it's official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012.
July 1 was the original release date Paramount gave Transformers 3, but it was Bay that said the movie was more likely to arrive in 2012. Bay says he will work on Pain & Gain after Transformers 3 is finished, but is already hard at work on "Trans 3."
Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for fivehours in San Francisco. Currently I'm flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters.
While Bay did not mention Shia LeBeouf by name, it is likely he will return for the sequel, and despite the antagonism between Bay and Fox that was chronicled by the press, Bay says Fox is returning.
