Even though the cast of director Peter Berg's (Hancock) Hasbro board game-turned-movie Battleship includes the likes of up-and-coming actor Taylor Kitsch (John Carter) and veteran tough guy Liam Neeson (The Grey), Rihanna is clearly the biggest star in the movie considering she has sold more than 20 million albums and 60 million singles and needs a warehouse to store all of her music awards. It's no wonder then that the first character featurette focuses on Rihanna and her character, Raikes, a tough-as-nails weapons officer modeled after real-life sailor Jacqueline Carrizosa, who served as a technical advisor on the movie. The featurette contains commentary from Rihanna and Carrizosa and includes behind-the-scenes footage of Rihanna in action on the set. watch the new featurette >> Posted 01.16.12 by BrentJS
Based on online comments, the first trailer for director Peter Berg's (Hancock) Battleship failed to convince very many viewers that the idea of turning the classic Hasbro board game into a big-budgeted, effects-driven spectacle featuring, of all things, aliens, was a very good idea. That most likely had to do with the fact the trailer was light on action and heavy on schmaltzy character introductions.
Universal Pictures has apparently taken the comments to heart because the action-packed new trailer that was recently released shifts the focus away from the human characters — though we do get to hear pop singer-turned-actress Rihanna speak for the first time — and towards the various robotic invaders that have been hiding in our planet's oceans (and that would easily fit into any of Michael Bay's Transformers movies). watch the new trailer >> Posted 12.10.11 by BrentJS
For those wondering how Universal was going to adapt the Milton-Bradley board game Battleship into a live-action movie, wonder no more because the first trailer for Battleship has arrived courtesy of Yahoo!.
In January, James Cameron criticized the Battleship adaptation, calling it an example of everything that's wrong in Hollywood. "We have a story crisis," said Cameron at the time. "Now they want to make the Battleship game into a film. This is pure desperation." was Cameron right? watch the trailer >> Posted 07.27.11 by Ryan
