Writer-director Edgar Wright's (Hot Fuzz) latest movie, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, opens tomorrow and Universal is making one final marketing push by unleashing a plethora of new promotional videos. Based on the popular Scott Pilgrim indie comic book by Bryan Lee O'Malley, the movie follows slacker musician Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) as he tries to win the affections of the girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) by battling his way through her seven "evil" exes in video-game inspired combat. Equal parts comedy and action movie, with a healthy portion of rock-and-roll sprinkled throughout, Wright's adaptation breaks the mold of what a "comic book movie" is supposed to be.

Those that attended the Comic-Con panel for the upcoming comic book adaptation Scott Pilgrim vs. The World were treated to one of the most celebrated panels so far. Director Edgar Wright moderated the discussion which featured cast members Brandon Routh, Kieran Culkin, Jason Schwartzman and Michael Cera wearing a Captain America costume (Scott Pilgrim costar, and Captain America lead Chris Evans was not in attendance). Even Simon Pegg and Nick Frost jumped onstage until Wright corrected himself, saying he misread the cue card and that the two actors do not appear in the movie. Then Wright asked the audience: "Would you people like to follow me to the theater right now to watch the film?"
While we can't be as generous, MTV does have a new clip, which is at least one minute of a very anticipated movie.

Empire has debuted the second official poster for Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) is 23 years old, living in the big city with his gay roommate, just trying to get by in this crazy world. He's in a band. He's lazy. He likes video games. He likes the new girl in town, Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), but to win her heart, he has to defeat her seven evil ex-boyfriends.

Forget the TV spots. Forget the other trailers. Forget the recent clip from the MTV Movie Awards where Pilgrim (Michael Cera) has to defeat evil ex-boyfriend #2 Lucas Lee (Chris Evans) and his stuntmen team. The footage from director Edgar Wright's adaptation of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World has been exciting so far, but none of those compare to the new international trailer that Wright released on his blog.
While not all of it is new footage, most of it is, and it finally shows an interaction between Scott Pilgrim and evil ex-boyfriend #3, Todd Ingram (Brandon Routh).

The first full clip from Scott Pilgrim vs. The World premiered on Sunday during the MTV Movie Awards. The clip featured Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) confront one of his new girlfriend's "evil" ex-boyfriends in a visual melee of kung-fu and comic book imagery. Director Edgar Wright spoke to Empire and gave a frame-by-frame analysis of the trailer, which Wright says only reveals a portion of what the movie has in store.
