While there's still a good three months of filming left for the two-part Breaking Dawn finale, the final moments of Part 2 have already been shot. Peter Facinelli — who plays Dr. Carlise Cullen, the head of the Cullen Clan — told MTV, "The other day when we shot that ending sequence, we knew that was the ending of the last two movies and it got a little melancholy." Late last night Summit Entertainment confirmed what Twilighters have assumed for a while: Breaking Dawn, the fourth book in Stephenie Meyer's series, will be split into two movies.
Fans can breathe a sigh of relief at the announcement, which also confirms that all the main cast members will be returning for both movies — yes, even Ashley Greene (Alice) and Kellan Lutz (Emmett). more on Summit's news, plus fan reaction >> Posted 06.11.10 by reelz
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse has been a bit quiet on the image side of things recently, but all that looks about to change as Summit Entertainment gears up for the June 30th theatrical release date. Several new movie stills have turned up this week, showing the Cullen boys, Edward and Bella pre-kiss and the nasty looking newborn vampires. more about the new Eclipse images >> Posted 05.07.10 by reelz
Today, Summit Entertainment surprised Twilighters with three anticlimactic stills from the upcoming movie The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. The new images are nothing we haven't seen before, showing the Cullens looking perplexed, Bella brooding, and Edward and Jacob mid face-off.
The Cullens are strangely color coordinated, and look like they should be in a denim commercial rather than gearing up to fight some badass immortals. continue reading >> Posted 03.31.10 by reelz
Filmofilia.com has posted 77 new New Moon images, all taken from the New Moon Official Illustrated Movie Companion, which hits shelves tomorrow.
Now's your chance to see Edward kissing his beloved Bella, the Volturi, Carlisle in the 1800s, many half-naked werewolves, and Robert Pattinson wearing a very nice coat.
We're glad to see that Pattinson's hair has been successfuly Edward-i-fied, and that Kristen Stewart still makes Bella look like a dull, run-of-the-mill high school student. Really, has the costume department forgotten that the character likes to wear a bit of color every now and then? We're wondering how Elizabeth Reaser's Esme has managed to transform herself so successfully, considering her appearance should, in vampire lore, stay exactly as it was in Twilight. And as for Jackson Rathbone's strange stance and facial expression, we're just going to gloss over that one and pretend it doesn't exist.
On the plus side, the Volturi look mean and menacing, and Taylor Lautner looks set to score a legion of female fans. New Moon is definitely well on its way to being the biggest movie of the year, and with no box-office competition to worry about in November, we think it'll dominate theater screens for much longer than Twilight did. New pictures from the set of Eclipse have surfaced, including Carlisle and the wolves and Robert Pattinson, Ashley Greene, and Peter Facinelli on set. Of all the cast, Facinelli could easily pass for a real-life vampire, just look at his pale complexion and platinum blond hair — does he remind you of anyone from vampire TV shows past?
In addition to these new images, the Examiner also has a report round-up from last week's filming. Fan-favorite highlights from the fifth week of Eclipse include director David Slade's tweet about a Bella-Jacob kiss on a mountain, and images of some creepy newborn vampires submerged in water.
Do you think David Slade looks like he's doing a good job bringing the epic, romance-fueled movie to the big screen? Let us know your thoughts in the comments. Posted 09.21.09 by reelz
As if the first trailer wasn't enough to excite fans of New Moon, today three new movie stills have surfaced online. Depicting a very wet Jacob (note the Quileute tattoo on his arm), Carlisle and Bella at Bella's doomed birthday party, and Bella and Edward in the midst of breaking up, these HQ images are the icing on an already fangtastic cake.
We're glad to see that Jacob's tattoo -- the wolves' equivalent to the Cullen crest -- is looking realistic, and fans can breathe a sigh of relief to see that, yes, Bella has what looks to be a nasty, bloody cut on her right arm. There's just one thing missing ... where's all the broken glass? Posted 06.02.09 by reelz
Twilight dad Peter Facinelli has now finished filming his New Moon scenes and, in a recent interview with Access Hollywood, had nothing but good things to say about the cast and crew.
Of director Chris Weitz, Facinelli said he's a "calming force" who is "very Zen-like." He also spoke about the first scene of the movie, Bella's 18th birthday party, and said Jackson Rathbone (Jasper) does "a fantastic job, 'cause he just really went for it.'" It sounds like things are going well over at the New Moon set, and with a trip to Italy next on the agenda, the movie seems well on its way to completion.
On a side note, is Peter Facinelli now sharing a wardrobe with co-star Robert Pattinson? Talk about a father-son bond -- we could hardly tell the difference. Posted 05.12.09 by reelz
Rumor has it filming of New Moon's Cullen-house scenes wrapped yesterday, ending with what looks like Bella's birthday party.
Peter Facinelli (Carlisle), Nikki Reed (Rosalie), Jackson Rathbone (Jasper), Kristen Stewart (Bella) , and Robert Pattinson (Edward) were all spotted wearing birthday party attire, in order to film what is one of the most important scenes in the book -- the scene where everything goes wrong.
We're happy to see that Reed's blonde wig looks more realistic than previous efforts, and this time we hope Rosalie's hair will stop changing in every scene (Twilight, anyone?). Even she isn't clever enough to change her hair whilst running from a murderous vampire. Continuity, people. It's important. Posted 04.18.09 by reelz
