Open Road Films is clearly an intelligent and intuitive company, scheduling their panel after the one for Django Unchained and before Warner Bros.' panel for The Hobbit, Man of Steel and Pacific Rim. The line for Hall H that day was the longest of the entire convention, with many either lining up at dawn or sleeping overnight. Therefore, Open Road got a packed house for their panel presentation, which included a look at their upcoming sequel, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D.
The follow-up to 2006's Silent Hill, writer/director Michael J. Bassett based Revelation on Silent Hill 3, Konami's 2003 video game sequel. In an interview with Dread Central, Bassett revealed that audiences don't need to see original to understand the sequel. "People who are new to it will totally get it," said the director.
