This week has already brought a new international trailer for the upcoming comedy The Watch (formerly Neighborhood Watch), and now the first preview clip is also online via Yahoo!. The Watch follows four guys (Jonah Hill, Ben Stiller, Richard Ayoade, Vince Vaughn) who start a Neighborhood Watch group to help protect their suburban community and end up discovering an aline plot to take over the world.
In this first preview clip, the guys are on a nighttime stakeout in front of a CostCo and quickly learn that one of the biggest issues of a stakeout is having to use the bathroom. No surprise that it's Vaughn's character with the urge and, luckily, a soda can. watch the clip >> Posted 06.22.12 by Ryan
With each consecutive trailer, more is being revealed about what kind of movie the upcoming The Watch (formerly Neighborhood Watch) is hoping to be. The teaser trailer released in March seemed to set up a comedy about suburban dads playing tough in their Neighborhood watch group, while the subsequent red band and green band trailers revealed that the four guys (Jonah Hill, Ben Stiller, Richard Ayoade, Vince Vaughn) would also encounter a potential alien invasion.
The latest trailer is easily the funniest trailer yet, showing Evan (Stiller) bringing the group together. It also offers more looks at the other members of the group (surprise, Vaughn's character, Bob, is the obnoxiously enthusiastic one). Once the group runs over an alien with Stiller's minivan, the unlikely saviors of the planet have to find a way to stop the invasion. That's when the laughs really begin. watch the trailer and check out the new poster >> Posted 06.21.12 by Ryan
In March, the teaser trailer for the upcoming comedy The Watch (back when it was called Neighborhood Watch) was a simple affair, showing Jonah Hill, Ben Stiller, Richard Ayoade, and Vince Vaughn driving around their neighborhood in a minivan trying to look like badasses in their matching jackets. The teaser did little to promote the fact that the group would eventually stumble across a possible alien invasion, something that the work-unfriendly red band trailer released earlier this month addressed almost entirely.
Clearly, the alien subplot is a selling point of the movie. The latest, work-friendly trailer for The Watch further explores the alien invasion, even revealing what the aliens look like when Stiller, Hill, and Vaughn fight one in a CostCo and later take pictures with it. watch the trailer >> Posted 05.24.12 by Ryan
20th Century Fox dropped a new red-band trailer for the Ben Stiller comedy Neighborhood Watch but also announced it's renaming the movie to simply The Watch (the change is undoubtedly related to the controversial Trayvon Martin case).
Here's the official synopsis for The Watch:
Four everyday suburban guys come together to form a neighborhood watch group, but only as an excuse to escape their humdrum lives one night a week. But when they accidentally discover that their town has become overrun with aliens posing as ordinary suburbanites, they have no choice but to save their neighborhood — and the world — from total extermination. watch the red-band trailer >> Posted 05.04.12 by Chris
20th Century Fox has released the teaser trailer for the upcoming comedy Neighborhood Watch, which stars Jonah Hill, Ben Stiller, and Vince Vaughn as suburban dads who form a group to protect the neighborhood. While their intent is actually a thinly disguised excuse to hang out together, they inadvertently discover a plot to take over the world. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (Superbad, Pineapple Express) wrote the script for the movie.
None of the alien conspiracy is in the teaser, however, which instead shows the three leads and Richard Ayoade rolling through the streets in their mini-van and matching jackets and tackling some of the pressing issues of suburban life. watch the trailer >> Posted 03.01.12 by Ryan
It's official: Jonah Hill is joining Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn in 20th Century Fox's up coming comedy Neighborhood Watch.
Last week, the recently slimmed-down actor was reportedly in talks for the movie, but concerns about his price tag made the casting questionable. Deadline reports that Hill is a go for the movie, though what role Hill will play is still unknown.
Written by Superbad's Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the comedy sees Stiller and Vaughn start a neighborhood watch group as an excuse for dads to hang out together, and then uncover an alien plot to take over the world. Last month, actor-producer Tom Cruise was confirmed to produce and act in Paramount Pictures' adaptation of author Lee Child's novel One Shot. Finally, Cruise is getting some company.
Deadline reports that Rosamund Pike is in negotiations to take the female lead, that of a defense attorney named Helen Rodin. In the novel, Cruise's character, former Military Police Officer-turned-drifter Jack Reacher, investigates the deaths of five individuals, all shot by a lone sniper. Pike's Rodin is defending the man arrested for the shootings, and joins up with Cruise's Reacher to bring down the real culprits.
One Shot was adapted by screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie (Valkyrie, The Usual Suspects), who will also direct for the first time since his 2000 crime drama The Way of the Gun. Production on the movie will start this fall in Pittsburgh. No release date for One Shot has been announced so far.
Pike can be seen next in September's Johnny English Reborn, followed by the October comedy The Big Year and, next March, in Wrath of the Titans, the sequel to Clash of the Titans. Hill and dewitt to join Stiller and Vaughn in Neighborhood Watch >> Posted 08.17.11 by Ryan
