The trilogy you never thought would be a trilogy comes to its conclusion.
The Wolfpack (Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and, ostensibly, Justin Bartha) have already ventured to Las Vegas and Thailand, but, as pointed out in newly-released first trailer for The Hangover Part III, they haven't learned anything. While we're not sure why exactly the Wolfpack have reunited (there's no wedding this time), it doesn't look like things will turn out any better as the group hits the road, descending once more to Vegas (perhaps only briefly) and meeting up with plenty of familiar faces from the previous movies for a sequel co-writer and director Todd Phillips has described as a "fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions" .

While the movies may not be everyone's cup of Rohypnol, there's no denying the success of The Hangover and its sequel, The Hangover Part II, which out-earned its predecessor at $581 million worldwide. Unsurprisingly, Warner Bros. is interested in a third installment, hiring screenwriter Craig Mazin in June to write the script. Mazin co-wrote The Hangover Part II with Scot Armstrong and director Todd Phillips.
Prior to Mazin's hiring, Phillips admitted that a third Hangover "would very much be a finale and an ending," prompting many to wonder where the third movie will take place. After spending time in both Las Vegas and Bangkok, Hangover actors Jamie Chung (Lauren, Ed Helms' fiancée in The Hangover Part II) and Justin Bartha (Doug) separately suggested Amsterdam, as a possible location. While appearing on The Graham Norton Show, Bradley Cooper said production could begin next year on the sequel and offered a contrasting location for the Wolfpack to reunite.

The red carpet premiere of one of the most highly anticipated comedies of all time, writer-director Todd Phillips' The Hangover Part II, takes place later today and Bing is giving you the opportunity to feel like you're part of the action. Unfortunately, hirsute funnyman Zach Galifianakis, who reprises the role of Alan from the first movie, will not be in attendance, but the rest of the "Wolf Pack"—Bradley Cooper as Phil, Ed Helms as Stu and Justin Bartha as Doug— will be, along with Ken Jeong, returns as Mr. Chow, Mike Tyson and Jamie Chung, who joins the cast as Stu's fiancé. Other celebrities confirmed to appear include Jason Bateman, Kristen Bell, Will Ferrell, Rainn Wilson, Danny McBride, George Lopez, Nas, Jay-Z and Rihanna.

Warner Bros. has released two preview clips for the upcoming sequel, The Hangover Part II, which opens next week. Unlike the Vegas setting of the 2009 original, here Phil (Bradley Cooper), Alan (Zach Galifianakis), Stu (Ed Helms), and Doug (Justin Bartha) head to Bangkok, Thailand, to celebrate the pending nuptials of Stu and his fiancee Lauren (Jamie Chung). You can guess that everything goes terribly wrong.
The first clip will feel familiar to those who watched the first Hangover, as Galifianakis, Cooper, and Helms once again wake up in a hotel room to discover that another night of debauchery has occurred.

While The Hangover Part II won't open for another month, promotional material for the highly-anticipated sequel continues to arrive online in the form of new posters, TV spots, or statements from co-writer and director Todd Phillips about whether or not he taught a monkey how to smoke cigarettes for the movie.
In a recent interview with MTV, Phillips cleared up another issue involving the sequel's title. Originally thought to be called "The Hangover 2, Phillips explained why he changed it to "The Hangover Part II."
I think there are very few sequels that have been made that live up to or exceed their first film. The Godfather [sequel] is the first one. We had always planned on calling it The Hangover 2, and when we finished the script, I changed the cover page and wrote The Hangover Part II, because I think the film lives up to or exceeds the first one. It was very much a nod to The Godfather [franchise].

The teaser trailer for the upcoming sequel The Hangover Part II simply revealed that "the Wolfpack is back," while the full-length trailer answered the question, "what are Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis gonna do — wake up in another hotel after a night of debauchery they can't remember?"
The answer, of course, was a resounding yes — it is called The Hangover Part II after all — and if the trailer felt the same as the first Hangover, there may be good reason. In an interview with ComingSoon at the recent CinemaCon, co-writer and director Todd Phillips revealed that shooting the sequel felt a lot like the first.
[F]or me, day one of shooting The Hangover Part II was like we never stopped shooting the other movie. Surely, Zach and I had just done Due Date together and that came out six months ago, but everyone just fell into their thing, and there wasn't the nervousness that you always have at the beginning of your movie of like, "Where is this character coming from? What am I doing?" Everybody was so informed as to what they were playing, and I was informed as to what movie I was making. The cameraman was informed. It was just sort of was, in a weird way, so easy. The difficult part was just being in Bangkok and just being disconnected from everything else. It's not a very film-friendly culture, you know? So that part was difficult and the language and all that stuff, crews, it's harder, but the movie was just such a fun time because we all just sort of knew our roles.

A new poster has debuted for upcoming sequel The Hangover Part II, which proclaims, like the movie's teaser trailer that "the Wolfpack is back".
Co-written and directed by The Hangover's Todd Phillips, The Hangover 2 shifts the setting to Bangkok, Thailand, with Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha still celebrating impending nuptials with disastrous results. Not much has been revealed about the sequel's plot, but Cooper teased BuzzSugar with a few details about the sequel.
We got a drug dealing monkey, Mike Tyson's back, Stu's (Helms) getting married in Thailand, and Mr. Chow (Ken Jeong) is back.

Last month, a teaser trailer for the upcoming sequel The Hangover 2 debuted, claiming "the Wolfpack is back" and showing Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis walking up a street of Bangkok, Thailand, with a monkey in tow but without Justin Bartha, the groom lost in the original Hangover. In the recently released photos in Empire Magazine (via The Playlist), Bartha is also not pictured, something Bartha says is nit indicative in the sequel.
Doug isn’t lost in this one. There are similar circumstances, but he’s a little bit more involved..

Mel Gibson was originally set to cameo as a Bangkok tattoo artist in the upcoming sequel The Hangover 2 before his casting upset the crew and was eventually dismissed. Liam Neeson took over the role in the sequel, with his The A-Team co-star Bradley Cooper reportedly being "instrumental" in getting Neeson to agree to the cameo. While appearing on The Tonight Show (via Monsters and Critics), Neeson explained how "instrumental" Cooper really was.
[Previously] I said to Bradley, "Look, I will do anything in Hangover 2, you know, just open the door...the concierge...anything, you know, just to be with you guys." And then, one night, I was sitting [at home], I had put the kids to bed, I was watching TV, I was having a glass of wine, and I suddenly got this text from Bradley. It said, "Do you want to be in Hangover 2?" I was like, [pretends to sip his wine, then text] "Yeah. When?" And he texts back, "Tomorrow?" I went, [pretends to sip again] "Yeah."

When The Hangover 2 was announced, it didn't take long for director Todd Phillips to announce that the sequel wouldn't take place in Las Vegas. When Thailand became a rumored location for the sequel, however, Phillips denied it, revealing that Hangover 2 wouldn't be set in either Thailand or Mexico. Recently, reports have revealed that Phillips was deceiving fans with his Thailand location denial, forcing him to admit to Empire that Thailand would indeed be the location for Hangover 2.
It takes place in Bangkok and L.A. There's gonna be some f**ked-up surprises. The three guys are back. Mr. Chow's [Ken Jeong] back too.
