Steven Soderbergh's highly anticipated action movie, Haywire, hits theaters this weekend and all the buzz surrounding it reassures viewers it's just as badass as the clips imply. At a recent press conference regarding the movie, Eric Eisenberg of cinemablend.com had the opportunity to sit in and hear what the actors had to say about working with Soderberg and shooting fighting scenes with an actual MMA fighter.
Gina Carano, professional fighter-turned-actress, talked about her "audition process."
My agent called me and he said that this director wanted to meet me, and I didn’t know who he was. I don’t know anything about Hollywood really, still. I’m still learning... We had a four hour lunch and at the end of it he offered me a movie. So, there was no auditioning. I don’t know what that is like yet.
Channing Tatum, no stranger to the action film genre, plays one of the many men Carano beats up and he was more than impressed.
Find a girl that you think can whip my butt and I’ll go to her movie. And then they did. And I wanted to be in the movie, like yes it’s for real. She can really do this stuff. There’s no faking it. She only fakes it, because she has too. It was fun. What did Ewan mcGregor say about working with Gina Carano? >> Posted 01.21.12 by reelz
