X-Men: First Class Character Videos Reveal New Footage of Beast, Havok, and Banshee; Plus New Banner Reveals Riptide

While it's hard to ignore that Thor is the comic book movie of the moment, X-Men: First Class will follow in June and Fox is keeping the promotional machine working on all cylinders. Last month saw the release of a new theatrical trailer and photos, a series of international trailers and posters, and a TV spot, to name a few.
The latest First Class promos come from MTV in the form of character videos that give a brief introduction to the characters of Beast (Nicholas Hoult), Havok (Lucas Till), and Banshee (Caleb Landry Jones). The videos offer new footage of each character, particularly Banshee, who hasn't shown up too often in the movie's trailers.
Hank Pym, a.k.a. Beast, starts out as a researcher introduced by The Man in Black (Oliver Platt) to Professor X (James McAvoy), Magento (Michael Fassbender) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), but, eventually, accidentally transforms himself into the blue, furry creature he is often depicted as in the Marvel comic books.
Alex Summers, a.k.a. Havok, is the younger brother of Cyclops (played by James Marsden in the X-Men trilogy), though how that relationship is reconciled with the 1960s setting of First Class and the modern day setting on the X-Men trilogy is unknown. Like Cyclops, Havok can emit a beam of energy, though Havok's comes from his chest instead of his eyes.
Sean Cassidy, a.k.a. Banshee, started out as a villain in the X-Men comic books, but in First Class seems more like a failed ladies' man. His power, that of a "sonic scream," remains the same.
A UK banner has also been released for First Class, which shows McAvoy, Fassbender, Lawrence and Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert on one side, and members of the Hellfire Club (Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw, January Jones as Emma Frost, Jason Flemying as Azazel, and Álex González as Janos Quested, a.k.a. Riptide) on the other. The banner is first look at the character of Riptide, who can spin his body at incredible speeds, appearing often like the wind tunnel he seems to be holding in his hand.
First Class was directed by Matthew Vaughn and co -stars Zoë Kravitz as Angel Salvadore, and Edi Gathegi as Darwin.
