Will Ferrell Frustrated Over Anchorman 2

Don't understand why there isn't a sequel to the hilarious Anchorman? You're not the only one.
In an interview with PopEater, Will Ferrell shares his frustration over Paramount's nixing the idea of bringing Ron Burgundy and the rest of the KVWN-TV Channel 4 Evening News back to the big screen.
PopEater: Have you and your writing partner Adam McKay managed to shame Paramount into green lighting Anchorman 2?
Ferrell:No! Despite all my comments to the media which after I saw ... it's one of the those things where you say something and go, 'Oh I don't remember saying that,' oh I guess I did. No, it has had no effect.
PopEater: That's so weird. The movie made so much money.
Ferrell: Yeah, I don't understand how they conduct their business. It's funny I think they... actually I don't know what they think. Once again they don't comment either way but it's not like it's coming from us unsolicited. We just keep getting asked so many times about it that we have to comment. We try to explain there's so much interest in a sequel, we're not making this up! So I don't know.
Ferrell is making the press circuit promoting his new indie Everything Must Go, and though Ferrell has proven he can carry a dramatic role (see Stranger than Fiction), his legion of fans want him back behind the news desk.
Despite making $90M on a $25M budget, Paramount says a sequel wouldn't be good for business. And even though Ferrell and his writing partner Adam McKay have written a script, it's the studio that owns the rights to the movie and characters, so unless fans start an email campaign, the likelihood of seeing Anchorman 2 is less than Sex Panther working on the ladies.
