Vin Diesel Is The Machine

Vin Diesel has lined up a post-Fast Five role.
THR reports Diesel will reunite with his The Pacifier screenwriters Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon (also of Reno 911! fame and the writers of The Night at the Museum movies) for the MGM movie The Machine. The action/comedy will star Diesel as "a human-like machine created in secrecy by the Pentagon as the world's first true ultimate weapon." Twenty years after The Machine is deactivated, he is discovered by a kid and must protect his family from the government once they learn of The Machine's reactivation.
While MGM hopes to put The Machine into production this fall, there is currently no director on the project. Diesel will also produce through his One Race Productions company.
Fast Five, and its $465 million and counting worldwide box office take, has been a boost everyone's career. Director Justin Lin has recently become attached to a fifth Terminator movie, a Fast Five sequel, and saw the Highlander reboot he's been attached to since 2009 move forward.
Fast Five screenwriter Chris Morgan scored a two-year production deal with Universal Pictures, with writing the Fast sequel as part of his agreement.
Diesel also has a third Riddick movie in the works.
