Lindsay Lohan Possibly the New Carrie?

In Brian De Palma's 1975 horror Carrie, Sissy Spacek could make things move with her mind and ultimately gave her classmates (including a young John Travolta) a prom they wouldn't forget. Could you imagine a pig-blood-soaked Lindsay Lohan causing havoc?
Last week MGM and Screen Gems announced plans for a Carrie remake, hiring Broadways' Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark playwright Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa to pen the script.
It's not surprising that Hollywood wants to remake a scary movie from the 70s (they've already remade movies from the '80s — A Nightmare on Elm Street). There was a forgettable sequel to Carrie — 1999's The Rage: Carrie 2. Yeah, we don't remember it either.
But what was newsworthy was the name dropped for who could possibly be the new high school outcast with killer telekinetic powers — Lindsay Lohan.
Carrie author Stephen King sounded off about the plans for the remake.
I’ve heard rumblings about a Carrie remake, as I have about The Stand and It. Who knows if it will happen? The real question is why, when the original was so good? I mean, not Casablanca, or anything, but a really good horror-suspense film, much better than the book. Piper Laurie really got her teeth into the bad-mom thing. Although Lindsay Lohan as Carrie White… hmmm. It would certainly be fun to cast. I guess I could get behind it if they turned the project over to one of the Davids: Lynch or Cronenberg.
According to TMZ, Lohan would kill for the role, with a close source saying the "actress" was "stoked" to heard King mention her name.
So what do you think of Lohan as possibly Carrie? She seems to cause enough destruction without telekinetic powers. Think Dina Lohan could play the psycho mom?
