Roy Hobbs a Juicer?

Baseball legend Roy Hobbs is knee deep in scandal today after the slugger was linked to another investigation into baseball's widespread abuse of performance enhancing drugs.
"I don't want to talk about the past," was the only response Hobbs had for reporters.
Baseball fans everywhere were shocked when this middle-aged man from seemingly out of nowhere took the New York Knights to the pennant. Hobbs was an instant national hero, the idol of young boys everywhere. Today, with Hobbs' purported links to the Balco investigations looming, their childhood fantasies seem just a little bit tainted.
"Seriously, hitting the lights? At his age? What a load of s$%$! He's a disgrace to the sport I love," says former catcher Crash Davis.
Indians pitcher Rick 'Wild Thing' Vaughn, who once beaned Hobbs in a preseason exhibition, was surprisingly supportive of the scandalized hero, stating that "these drugs were not banned by baseball in those days, so we've, I mean he's, done nothing illegal."
Although this formerly inspiring baseball story has now lost some of its luster, a director's cut of The Natural hit DVD's earlier this week. Vaughn's life story also hit shelves recently in a new Wild Thing Edition with a special turf cover. Time will tell whether fans will ever be able to see these former heroes in the same light again.
