One More Cast Member Added to World War Z

With Paramount's adaptation of World War Z set to start production this month, the cast is expanding. By one.
Variety reports that James Badge Dale (HBO's The Pacific) has joined the cast as an American soldier that tries to warn authorities of the zombie outbreak. Dale joins a cast that so far has Brad Pitt headlining as a U.N. researcher and Mireille Enos (AMC's The Killing) starring as Pitt's wife. Anthony Mackie was rumored to be up for a role, but his recent casting in the upcoming Gangster Squad may mean that Mackie won't be killing zombies any time soon.
The Marc Forster–directed production will reportedly begin in London, but The Daily Record reports that, in August, the production will head north to Glasgow, Scotland. The city will fill in for the U.S. city of Philadelphia and the production will serve as a huge boost for the city's economy.
Based on Max Brooks' best-selling novel, World War Z was adapted by screenwriters Matthew Michael Carnahan (The Kingdom) and J. Michael Straczynski (Changeling). The production seemed to be facing some severe financial trouble in March, but is now finally getting in front of cameras. We expect more casting announcements to follow.
