Open Casting Call Announced for Autumn Frost, aka Zack Snyder's Man of Steel

With so many comic book adaptations in production, movie fans have more opportunities than ever to not only see their favorite heroes in action on the big screen, but also to appear on screen alongside them as extras. Open casting calls for extras to appear in Marvel Studios' The Avengers have already gone out for the Albuquerque and Cleveland legs of writer-director Joss Whedon's shoot, and Warner Bros. is looking for extras in Los Angeles and Pittsburgh to appear in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. Now, Superman fans are being given a chance to share screen time with the Last Son of Krypton as an open casting call has been announced for director Zack Snyder's franchise reboot, Man of Steel.
While the casting call is supposedly for a movie titled "Autumn Frost," it's pretty easy to tell that this is the code-name for Man of Steel since the "Casting Call" font is a modified Superman comic book logo script and it's the only movie that Snyder is currently directing for Warner Bros. Snyder has previously stated that he expected to go into production on Man of Steel "at the end of the summer," and the casting call listing confirms this timeline.

Man of Steel is said to take place during Clark Kent's (Henry Cavill) formative years, when he was still trying to figure out his powers and his place in the world. The cast includes Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Michael Shannon as Zod, and Antje Traue as Faora. Man of Steel was written by David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight) from a story he conceived with producer Christopher Nolan.
