Mark Ruffalo Offers Updates on The Avengers Shoot; Reveals Movie Is Not Being Shot in 3-D

Even though Marvel Studios offered assurances that the theft of Samuel L. Jackson's script for The Avengers, and the subsequent leaking of portions of the script on the Internet in a bid by the thief to make some money, did not and would not cause the production to come to a halt, it has almost seemed like The Avengers has been on hiatus in recent weeks in light of the lack of news about it and because of the string of appearances by several principal cast members outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico, where the production kicked off at the end of April — Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson in L.A. on the 4th to present an award at Spike TV's 2011 Guys Choice Awards, Tom Hiddleston in L.A. on the 9th for the world premiere of Super 8, Robert Downey, Jr. in L.A. on the 12th for the 2011 Hero Complex Film Festival.
Thanks to fan-friendly actor Mark Ruffalo's proclivity for tweeting — Ruffalo tweeted more than three dozen times yesterday and responded to nearly 40 follower requests for retweets — we now have confirmation that the production is still underway in Albuquerque and that it is "going well." Between tweets thanking his fans and commenting on New York politics, Ruffalo offered several other interesting tidbits about the movie, including the fact that while The Avengers is being released in 3-D, it is "not being shot" in 3-D.
Here's a chronological listing of several of Ruffalo's more humorous and informative tweets about The Avengers from yesterday:
I know I got big shoes to fill with Banner [the human alter-ego of the Hulk]. All I can say is I am giving it my all. I really want to score with this Banner.
[Chris Evans] and [Chris] Hemsworth are jealous that I am that ripped and didn't have to go to the gym. It aint [sic] fair.
The Avengers shoot is going TITS.
I have to inform the wolrd [sic] that the Hulk may be completely bare assed in this AVengers.
I have to wear a mo cap [motion-capture] stretchy suit that makes me look like a walking chinese checker board.
The Avengers was written by and is currently under the direction of Joss Whedon, creator and showrunner of such popular TV series as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. The plot of the movie is still a mystery, though many signs point toward an alien invasion, possibly by the shapeshifting Skrulls. The cast also includes Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Clark Gregg as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Coulson, and Stellan Skarsgård as Erik Selvig.
