This may be Ryan Reynolds' day to shine with Green Lantern opening in theaters nationwide, but doesn't mean Marvel Studios is going to let you forget that they have Chris Evans waiting to spring into action as the title hero in Captain America: The First Avenger in just over a month. Marvel kicked off the next phase of its promotional campaign for the movie by debuting a new theatrical trailer at last weekend's Hero Complex Film Festival. Now, the official website for the movie has been updated with several new still images, including more shots of Evans pre- and post-Captain America transformation, a menacing close-up of the Red Skull (Hugo Weaving) and a shot of an army of double-heiling HYDRA agents. The site has also added four new high resolution wallpapers so you can keep your desktop safe from Nazis (unless, you know, you download the Red Skull wallpaper).
Captain America: The First Avenger was directed by Joe Johnston from a script by Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus. The story takes place primarily during WWII and centers around the transformation of sickly youth Steve Rogers (Evans) into the mountain of muscle known as Captain America, the only successful test subject of the U.S. military's program to create an army of "Super Soldiers." The cast includes Sebastian Stan as James "Bucky" Barnes, Neal McDonough as Dum Dum Dugan, Toby Jones as Arnim Zola, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark and Stanley Tucci as Dr. Abraham Erskine.
