Matthew Fox and Ed Harris Go AWOL From World War Z

Before the fight even began, Matthew Fox and Ed Harris have dropped out of Paramount's adaptation of World War Z.
Reported as being in talks for the movie last month, Vulture reports that the deals didn't go through. Fox's prior commitment to play the villain in I, Alex Cross is what made him unavailable, but the reason behind Harris' exit is unknown. Both actors were set to play smaller roles in the movie, with Fox's role reportedly being listed as "Parajumper."
Brad Pitt is still headlining the cast as a U.N. researcher, with Mireille Enos (AMC's The Killing) as his wife and James Badge Dale (HBO's The Pacific) as a soldier who tries to warn humanity of the zombie uprising. French actress Julia Levy-Boeken also reportedly joined the cast in an unknown role last month.
The Marc Forster-directed production is already busy shooting in Malta, with several new set photos revealing Pitt and his character's terrific scarf on the set, talking to another character in a jeep, as well as a few dead bodies thrown in for good measure.
Adapted from Max Brooks' best-selling novel by screenwriters Matthew Michael Carnahan (The Kingdom) and J. Michael Straczynski (Changeling), World War Z will move its production to Glasgow, Scotland, in August.
