A pair of new featurettes about Marvel Studios' latest comic book movie adaptation, Captain America: The First Avenger, recently aired on the epix channel and they can now be viewed online. There isn't any new footage in the featurettes, but they do provide some interesting insight into the making of the movie, from the vintage '40s cars and costumes used to bring the WWII period to life on screen to the construction of Cap's iconic shield, with commentary from stars Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell.
In other Captain America news, IGN has posted online an excellent video in which Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus, the screenwriters of the movie, dissect the theatrical trailer, "point-by-point," from why Cap squares off against HYDRA instead of plain ol' Nazis (out of respect for WWII veterans) to who the Howling Commandoes are and everything in between.
Captain America: The First Avenger was directed by Joe Johnston. The cast includes Sebastian Stan as James "Bucky" Barnes, Neal McDonough as Dum Dum Dugan, Toby Jones as Arnim Zola, and Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark.
