We can't be the only ones who thought "Great, Mall Cop Part 2 when we first saw the trailer for Zookeeper. Were our instincts correct? Well, while critics aren't making that comparison, the review scores are equally low.
"...a good-natured comedy."
— Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
"...a kid-friendly romantic comedy, a Night at the Museum at the zoo."
— Roger Moore, Chicago Tribune
"...there isn't much in the way of plot to get in the way of Sandler's world: There's poo, ripped pants and hot girls falling for fat guys."
— Scott Bowles, USA Today
"As a study in insanity, Zookeeper is mildly interesting. But as a kiddie comedy, it's something to watch only once the little ones have worn out their Dr. Doolittle DVD — maybe even their Dr. Doolittle 2 DVD, for that matter."
— Keith Phipps, Onion AV Club
"...punishingly flat, with even the slapstick so sparsely delivered as to replicate a long slog through the zoo, surrounded by fidgety kids, on a suffocating summer's day."
— Brian Lowry, Variety
"...dreadful in every respect, this archly mirthless comedy about a sad sack Dr. Dolittle plainly covets the Night at the Museum audience keen for more institutional after hours fantasy."
— Todd McCarthy, Hollywood Reporter
