Whoopi another of Oscar's® glaring omissions
02.25.08 by REELZ
Who would have thought that after how precarious this year's Oscar® ceremony even was in the first place (thanks to the writers' strike), the big talk the day after would be who was left out of the tributes?
Not only, as we mentioned, was actor Brad Renfro conspicuously absent from the 'In Memoriam' montage, but the montage of great moments from past shows managed to omit Whoopi Goldberg--and she's a little bummed about it.
Goldberg was the first African-American woman to host the Oscars®, which she did four times. She was also an Oscar® winner, but none of her hosting moments made the cut.
On this morning's The View, Goldberg got choked up over her omission from the montage, although she did point out that fellow comedian and Oscar® host Steve Martin was missing from the montage as well.
Just goes to show you, if you're going to leave someone on the cutting room floor, maybe it shouldn't be the person with the national daily talk show.
You an get a look at the video of Whoopi and the girls discussing the incident on People.com.
