The Dark Knight Rises Teaser Poster Debuts
07.12.11 by Ryan
Last week, a rumor got out (again) that the teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises might debut before showings of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, which opens this Friday, and could even arrive online before that. While the trailer has yet to debut, the teaser poster for the highly anticipated sequel has. Despite the outline of a bat, the poster looks a little more like a poster for director Christopher Nolan's Inception than his third and final Batman movie. However, it does infer that the city of Gotham is in big trouble, whatever the story might be.
The secret-story behind The Dark Knight Rises was originally conceived by the Nolan and David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight), and was written by the director and his brother, Jonathan Nolan. Returning cast members include Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Nestor Carbonell as the mayor of Gotham City, Gary Oldman as Commissioner James Gordon and, of course, Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The new additions include Juno Temple as Holly Robinson, Marion Cotillard as Wayne Enterprises board member Miranda Tate, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as policeman John Blake, Alon Aboutboul as a "mad scientist," Josh Pence as the young Ra's al Ghul, with Brett Cullen, Chris Ellis, Daniel Sunjata, Diego Klattenhoff, and Burn Gorman in supporting roles, and Tom Conti, Josh Stewart and Joey King in as-yet-unspecified roles.
The Dark Knight Rises opens on July 20, 2012.
