Bootleg Trailer for The Dark Knight Rises Surfaces Online, Gets Pulled
07.13.11 by reelz
As many of you might already know, the first teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises will screen this Friday ahead of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. The concluding chapter in Christopher Nolan's trilogy is still in the process of filming, with production currently in the Pittsburgh area. But of course, that hasn't stopped tons of rumors from surfacing all throughout the Internets. What will we see? Who will be featured? How much will Nolan give away?
Well, it appears we now have an answer. Earlier today, Cinema Blend posted a bootleg version of the trailer (now pulled at the request of Warner Bros.). The source is unidentified, but the sights and sounds in the trailer match almost point-for-point the details leaked to Collider earlier this week.
WARNING: If you'd rather see the trailer without being spoiled, don't read on!
The quality of the audio and video was pretty shoddy but it did, indeed, show clips from Batman Begins, which suggests the possible reemergence of Ra's al Ghul. It then has Gary Oldman as Gordon in a hospital bed, pleading that Batman returns. The voice of Christian Bale responds, not very reassuringly.
Then, we get very brief, flashing images of Tom Hardy as Bane, followed by a zoom into the images from the poster released eariler this week. The title appears on a white background, and on the soundtrack we hear with the mysterious chanting clip that went viral earlier this year. The whole thing ends with a very creepy shot of Batman backing away as Bane enters the left foreground.
So no Anne Hathaway as Catwoman this time around, but that shouldn't be far off. In the meantime, this has us pretty stoked. We'll keep you updated on further developments.
