Steven Spielberg Gives Brief Jurassic Park 4 Update at Comic-Con

Steven Spielberg was at the 2011 Comic-Con to promote his upcoming The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, but zealous fans couldn't help but ask about the long-gestating sequel, Jurassic Park IV. Luckily, Spielberg actually had a brief update, ComingSoon reports.
We have a story, I can happily announce right now. We have a writer... Hopefully, we'll be making Jurassic Park 4 in the near future. In the next two or three years.
In June, Spielberg was reportedly had multiple meeting with screenwriter Mark Protosevich (I Am Legend, Thor) to discuss story ideas and apparently those meetings went well. We can assume Protosevich is the "writer" Spielberg is referring to, though that was not confirmed.
Jurassic Park III director Joe Johnston, who also directed this weekend's Captain America: The First Avenger, revealed last January Jurassic Park IV would be "the beginning of the second Jurassic Park trilogy", and just recently revealed the sequel "starts with the history of the first trilogy, but it spins it off in a completely different direction". Whether that turns out to be true remains to be seen.
The original Jurassic Park trilogy earned $767 million in U.S. box office alone and almost $2 billion worldwide, so Universal has to be as pleased that a fourth is on the way.
