First Trailer for Like Crazy Starring Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones

Director Drake Doremus' romantic drama Like Crazy got a lot of attention earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival, where the movie won the Grand Jury Prize for a Dramatic Film. Like Crazy stars Anton Yelchin as an American college student who falls in love with a English exchange student (Felicity Jones), but their relationship runs into trouble when her visa is denied and they must carry on a long-distance relationship.
When Like Crazy opens this October, audiences will recognize Yelchin from his work in Star Trek, , and the upcoming Fright Night remake, but Jones is a newer face for American audiences, perhaps seen in last year's Tempest. In an interview with HitFix, Doremus revealed that he hopes to work with Jones in more projects.
I'm not letting her go. I've signed her to a 20-picture contract. I'm really excited for American audiences to get to experience her, because she's mainly been a British actress. She sent me a tape from her flat in London, and she did some scenes and sent them to me. We had seen a lot of different actresses with Anton in LA, just some chemistry reads, but nothing really stuck. And she sent in the tape, and without even seeing them together, I asked her when she could be in LA. So she got to LA, and then like seven days later, we were shooting. So it was great.
The movie also has other recognizable faces in Twilight: Eclipse's Charlie Bewley and X-Men: First Class' Jennifer Lawrence, whom Doremus said agreed to be in the movie, despite her increasingly busy schedule.
We had seen each other's movies at Sundance in 2010 and were fans of each other's work, and we met and became friends. And when this came up, she had a window of a couple of weeks, and she was so into it.
The end result of the casting has led to a movie that Doremus says is "all about the performances and the emotions" because, instead of the usual movie contrivances and obstacles, Like Crazy is simply about "two people navigating a relationship." With the first trailer for Like Crazy finally being released, we can see if he's right.
