First Trailer for Director Joel Schumacher's Trespass Starring Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman

Director Joel Schumacher made his mark in the 1980s with "Brat Pack" movies like St. Elmo's Fire and The Lost Boys, before almost destroying the Batman franchise with the widely panned sequels Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. Lately, Schumacher has been directing mostly thrillers and horror movies like Town Creek, The Number 23 and Phone Booth, and his latest movie, Trespass, is no exception.
Starring Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman as an affluent couple whose home is broken into by extortionists, Trespass is a reunion between Schumacher and Cage, who worked together on 1999's 8mm. While Cage was cast as the husband, once on set, the actor tried to convince Schumacher to let him play the role of the villain instead. "I know Nic would have been brilliant as the bad guy, but I wanted him to play the hero," Schumacher told EW in January. "It went back and forth and finally ended up where it should be."
As for how Trespass is different than other "home invasion" thrillers, Shumacher revealed that "there are cross-connections between the family and the [criminals], and many secrets come out." Some of those secrets are on display in the movie's first trailer.
Trespass was written by Karl Gajdusek (Showtime's Dead Like Me) and co-stars Ben Mendelsohn (Animal Kingdom), Cam Gigandet (Twilight), and Nico Tortorella (Scream 4).
