On True Blood, Ryan Kwanten plays Lothario Jason Stackhouse, who is usually seen with his shirt off. But in his new movie, Griff the Invisible, Kwanten suits up to moonlight as a crime fighter.
In the Australian movie (fans of HBO's vampire soap opera might be surprised to hear Kwanten's natural Australian accent), Kwanten is an everyday office worker who is bullied by coworkers. But by night, he assumes another identity — Griff the Invisible, roaming the dark street and protecting the innocent.
Kwanten sat down with Hollywood Dailies and talked about his new role.
Griff goes under the cover of being a sorta ordinary office worker, that’s pretty much his M.O. But he doesn’t realize the more he tries to make himself invisible, he’s actually being more seen. While this is going on in his life, he’s got this other layer, this superhero that goes out at night and solves all of his community’s crime.
Kwanten also talks why he thinks True Blood, now in its fourth season, remains so popular.
The fact that it resonates with you, it stays with you. With True Blood, people are addicted.
