It's official: Jonah Hill is joining Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn in 20th Century Fox's up coming comedy Neighborhood Watch.
Last week, the recently slimmed-down actor was reportedly in talks for the movie, but concerns about his price tag made the casting questionable. Deadline reports that Hill is a go for the movie, though what role Hill will play is still unknown.
Written by Superbad's Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the comedy sees Stiller and Vaughn start a neighborhood watch group as an excuse for dads to hang out together, and then uncover an alien plot to take over the world. Akiva Schaffer (Hot Rod) will direct.
Having played a clown doctor on Adult Swim's Children's Hospital for three seasons, Rob Corddry (Hot Tub Time Machine) is going zombie for his next role.
Variety reports that Corddry has joined the cast of Summit Entertainment's Warm Bodies, an adaptation of the novel by Isaac Marion. It follows an existentially tormented zombie named R (X-Men: First Class's Nicholas Hoult) who falls for the girlfriend of one of his victims (I Am Number Four's Teresa Palmer) and decides to protect her from the zombie hordes. Corddry will play a zombie named M, the only other zombie like R.
Jonathan Levine, who directed the upcoming cancer comedy 50/50, adapted the screenplay for Warm Bodies and will direct when the movie starts production this September.
Speaking of the undead, another new cast member has joined Universal's adaptation of R.I.P.D.
Based on the Dark Horse comic book, R.I.P.D. follows a recently murdered police officer (Ryan Reynolds) who accepts a job at the Rest in Peace Department so he has the chance to to find the man that murdered him. Jeff Bridges plays Reynolds' partner, a gunslinger who has been policing the dead since the 1880s, who is seen in a different form when viewed by humans. THR reports that Bridges' human form will be played by Victoria’s Secret model Marisa Miller. Looking good, dude. Miller won't be the first Victoria's Secret model to jump into features, as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley made her debut in Transformers: Dark of the Moon this summer.
Also joining the cast is Mike O'Malley (Glee). Deadline reports that O'Malley will play Elliot, a kind of ghost and will shoot his scenes next week.
Miller and O'Malley join a cast that includes Mary-Louise Parker, who plays the head of the division Reynolds works at, as well as Kevin Bacon, who plays the movie's antagonist, and Stephanie Szostak (Dinner for Schmucks), who plays Reynolds' wife.
R.I.P.D. will begin production next week in Boston under the direction of Robert Schwentke (RED) and a script from Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay (Clash of the Titans remake). R.I.P.D. is scheduled for release on June 28, 2013.
