Werewolves in NYC better watch out; there's about to be some new vampires in the city. Today, the first teaser poster for Amy Heckerling's twist on the vampire-romance genre, Vamps, debuted at MTV's Hollywood Crush.
Vamps marks the first re-teaming of writer/director Heckerling and Alicia Silverstone since 1995's Clueless. The movie also stars Krysten Ritter, Sigourney Weaver, and Wallace Shawn The playful image in the first poster, along with the tagline "Nice Girls Suck," makes it pretty clear that these vampires won't be as angst ridden as the bloodsuckers from the Twilight movies, though there is some chance that it might, like Ren and Stimpy, be "way existential."
A new synopsis was released along with the poster that describes the characters played by Silverstone and Ritter.
As upstanding, politically correct Extended Life Forms (ELFs), the pair fit twelve-step "Sanguines Anonymous" meetings to help curb the temptation of human blood in between their clubbing and dating schedules. When love steals into each of their lives, the pair’s destiny is set on a new course and they must make a choice that will jeopardize their immortality—and maybe much more.
Unfortunately, there is no release date set for the movie, but it's expected to open sometime next year.
