Two Preview Clips from Blackthorn Take No Prisoners

The trailer for director Mateo Gil's new Western, Blackthorn, was released at the end of last month, and now Magnolia Pictures has two preview clips to advertise the movie, already available on video-on-demand and entering theaters next month.
Blackthorn stars Sam Shepard as the infamous outlaw Butch Cassidy in a story that follows the legend that Cassidy didn't perish at the hands of Bolivian police in 1908 as depicted in 1969's Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Living in Bolivia under the name James Blackthorn, Cassidy decides to head back to America, a plan that becomes deadly when he meets up with young criminal Apocada (Eduardo Noriega), who has come upon a large amount of money from a mining company. The two preview clips show that, once again, friendship comes with consequences.
In the first preview clip, released by Yahoo!, Cassidy and Apocada decide to split up en route to the States, but Cassidy's ride through picturesque Bolivia soon gets disrupted by two horsemen.
ComingSoon released the second clip last week, which shows that Butch's new friend has his own set of enemies.
Known for his screenplays for the Spanish-language movies Vanilla Sky and The Sea Inside, Blackthorn marks the English-language directorial debut for Gil, from a script by Miguel Barros. Stephen Rea (Underworld: Awakening) and Magaly Solier (Amador) co-star.
