Denzel Washington has his ticket for director Robert Zemeckis' Flight.
Deadline reports the actor and director will team up for the first time for the thriller, the first live-action movie for Zemeckis (Back to the Future) since 2000's Castaway. The story revolves around a commercial airline pilot (Washington) who flies a damaged plane and saves the lives of most everyone on board, but his tag as a hero comes into question when investigators start questioning whether he drank alcohol the night before the flight. John Gatins (Real Steel) wrote the script for the movie, which will go into production in Atlanta this October.
Also boarding the movie is Kelly Reilly (Sherlock Holmes), who will play a drug addict who befriends Washington as they both battle their dependency issues.
Writer-director Jonathan Levine's adaptation of Warm Bodies is looking like it will have a pretty impressive cast.
Academy Award–nominated actor John Malkovich was recently cast in the movie as a military general bent on destroying zombies, but whose daughter (Teresa Palmer) has befriended one (Nicholas Hoult) who, after eating her boyfriend, then protects her from the zombie hordes. Variety reports that Analeigh Tipton (Crazy, Stupid, Love), Dave Franco (Charlie St. Cloud and brother of James) and Cory Hardrict (Battle: Los Angeles) have also joined the project.
Former America's Next Top Model contestant Tipton will play Palmer's best friend, while Franco will play the leader of the human resistance. Hardrict will play Malkovich's right-hand man.
Based on the book by Isaac Marion and adapted by Levine, Warm Bodies will also star Rob Corddry (Hot Tub Time Machine). Production reportedly begins this month.
