Teaser Trailer for [Rec] 3: Genesis One Bloody Wedding
09.18.11 by Ryan
For the casual moviegoer, the sequel [Rec] 3: Genesis, might cause one to ask themselves, "What about the first two?"
Well, let's recap, shall we? [Rec] was released in 2007, and promptly remade into 2008's Quarantine. Both movies followed the residents of an apartment building who are held captive inside after a strange virus is released. [Rec] 2 followed in 2009, starting just minutes after the first one ended. The two movies were huge hits in their native Spain, prompting plans for two more sequels, [Rec] 3: Genesis and [Rec] 4: Apocalypse.
With Genesis now set to open in Spain next March, a new teaser trailer has been released, which doesn't exactly reveal the mystery of what the third installment in the [Rec] franchise is about exactly, but shows that the contagion has spread to wedding, making it one of the more unpleasant celebrations one could attend.
[Rec] 3: Genesis was directed by Paco Plaza, who goes solo after co-directing the previous two [Rec] movies with Jaume Balagueró. A U.S. release date is sure to arrive at some point, but, until then, those intrigued can catch the sequel to Quarantine, Quarantine 2: Terminal, which was released on DVD last month. Fair warning, however, Terminal abandons the story of [Rec] 2 as well as the "found footage" style of the [Rec] movies.
