Riddick 3: Vin Diesel Shares Key Frame Art Revealing Riddick's "Final Stand"

Actor Vin Diesel has been the greatest source of information about the sequel to The Chronicles of Riddick by posting updates and pre-production artwork on his personal Facebook page. Diesel has previously revealed details about the conversations (read: battles) that he and David Twohy have had with Universal over Riddick 3's (formerly The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking) budget and R-rating, and also shared concept and storyboard art. "In the spirit of Creative Sundays," Diesel has once again offered his fans a peek at a new piece of artwork from Riddick 3 and this time it's key frame art by artist Vance Kovacs depicting one of the many new threats facing Riddick in what might turn out to be the anti-hero's "Final Stand."
Here's the portion of Diesel's Facebook post relating to the key frame art:
Concept art and Key frames allow a production to explore possibilities before actually committing to film. The road to the "R" rating, that so many of you were vocal about, has been a long one. The advantage however, (never empower the negatives) was that we were allowed a really extensive preproduction. The art work is so good, the artists have really outdone themselves in illustrating this world at it's early stage.
When this film comes to the screen... know that you willed it into being!
And, here's a closer look at the central figures in the key frame art. The creatures Riddick is fighting look like they could be the "mud demons" that were first mentioned in an article about the Russian distribution sale of Riddick 3 back in February 2010.
