Watch the First 5 Minutes of Green Lantern

Even though the summer movie season has come and gone and there are no longer any comic book superheroes storming your local cineplex, you can enjoy their fantastical adventures from the comfort of your own home as they start trickling out on DVD and Blu-ray. Marvel Studios' Thor kicked off "superhero summer" and also led the home video invasion with its DVD/Blu-ray release last month, and the god of thunder's (played by Chris Hemsworth) fellow Avenger, Captain America (Chris Evans), will get his due when Captain America: The First Avenger is released on home video release in just two week's time.
But, before the "Star-Spangled Avenger" wings his way into your home, Warner Bros. (WB) is offering up home video versions of its own summer superhero with the release of Green Lantern on Oct. 17th. To help promote the release — and to give the uninitiated a quick-and-dirty introduction to the world of the Green Lantern Corps and the Corps' primary antagonist, Parallax — WB has released an extended video clip that includes the first five minutes of the movie. Grab a handful of popcorn and enjoy!
Green Lantern was directed by Martin Campbell and is based on the classic DC Comics character created by John Broome and Gil Kane that first appeared in Showcase #22 (October 1959). The cast includes Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern, Blake Lively as Carol Ferris, Peter Sarsgaard as Hector Hammond, Mark Strong as Lantern Sinestro, Temuera Morrison as Lantern Abin Sur,
Angela Bassett as Amanda Waller and Academy Award–winner Tim Robbins as Senator Hammond. Michael Clarke Duncan and Academy Award–winner Geoffrey Rush provide the voices of Lanterns Kilowog and Tomar-Re, respectively.
