First Trailer for This Means War Starring Chris Pine, Reese Witherspoon and Tom Hardy
Posted 10.14.11 by Ryan
Reese Witherspoon's previous romantic comedy, last year's How Do You Know, had two men fighting for her affection, but, clearly, the fighting wasn't physical enough. In her latest romcom, This Means War, Chris Pine (Star Trek) and Tom Hardy (Inception) are literally throwing themselves through windows and jumping out of airplanes for her affections.
Pine and Hardy play two CIA agents and best friends who both fall for the same woman (Witherspoon). Instead of turning to reason and rational compromise, the two agents decide to let Witherspoon choose between the two. Of course, all that means is that the two agents use their highly-trained skills and high-tech gadgetry against each other whenever the other is trying to romance Witherspoon, who isn't get much help on her end from her best friend (Chelsea Handler) and her questionable advice.
This Means War was written by Tim Dowling (Just Go With It, Role Models) and Simon Kinberg (Sherlock Holmes) and directed by Joseph "McG" McGinty Nichol (Terminator Salvation, Charlie's Angels). While no one could tell from the trailer, the cast also includes Abigail Spencer (AMC's Mad Men, Cowboys and Aliens), David Koechner (Anchorman), Til Schweiger (Inglourious Basterds), and Angela Bassett (Green Lantern).
