Piranha 3DD Trailer Busts Out Online

Academy Award–winning director and 3-D enthusiast James Cameron may not have been a fan of last year's Piranha 3D, saying it "what we should not be doing in 3-D", but audiences didn't seem to mind as Piranaha 3D ultimately earned $83 million worldwide. A sequel, Piranha 3DD, was announced days after the original opened.
Instead of attacking revelers at a Lake Victoria, this time around the underwater creatures have made their way to a newly opened water park called "Big Wet," which presumably uses either fresh or salt water (though, as Christopher Lloyd's returning character Mr. Goodman points out, the piranha have "evolved" — so perhaps they can live in chlorinated water as well). What hasn't evolved in the sequels intentions... A positive for fans.
The Piranha 3DD trailer debuted during the Scream Awards and, while brief, does reveal quite a bit of the sequel, including a taste of David Hasselhoff's cameo and explains a little of what happened to Ving Rhames in the original movie, when he seemed to be killed by a swarm of piranha.
The creative team behind the Feast trilogy was responsible for Piranha 3DD, including screenwriters Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, director John Gulager, and producer Joel Soisson, who also rewrote the script. The cast includes Danielle Panabaker (Friday the 13th, The Crazies), Matt Bush (Adventureland), Chris Zylka (The Amazing Spider-Man), David Koechner (Anchorman), Meagan Tandy (Unstoppable), Katrina Bowden (30 Rock), and Paul Scheer, who returns as camera operator Drew.
Piranha 3DD was set to open on November 23, 2011, but the movie was pulled from its release date last week and rescheduled for an unspecified 2012 date.
