New Man of Steel "Spy" Pics of Henry "Superman" Cavill in Action

Several new "spy" pics have emerged from the Vancouver, BC, set of Zack Snyder's Superman franchise reboot, Man of Steel. Like the spy pics that leaked from the set in Alaska a couple weeks ago, title star Henry Cavill was bearded and shirtless when snapped acting against a green screen in Vancouver, looking far more like one of the fighting Spartans in Snyder's swords-and-sandals epic 300 than the perpetually clean-shaven, primary colors-clad first superhero, Superman.
Why the barbarian look for Superman, you ask? Based on what we have been able to glean about the plot of the movie, it appears that the scene being shot in Vancouver — like, we suspect, the previous scenes shot in Alaska — depicts a pre-Superman Clark Kent discovering his powers and trying to find his place in the world. In the scene being shot, it appears as if Clark is assisting the Coast Guard during some sort of disaster, perhaps caused by the arrival of the evil Kryptonians Zod (Michael Shannon) and Faora (Antje Traue), beings with the power of Superman but none of his respect for human life.
Man of Steel was written by David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight) from a story he conceived with producer Christopher Nolan (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises). The cast includes Amy Adams as Lois Lane; Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Superman's adoptive parents, Jonathan and Martha Kent; Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet; and Russell Crowe and Ayelet Zurer as Superman's Kryptonian parents, Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van.
