Production on the 23rd installment of the James Bond franchise has been announced to start on November 7th. And, as rumored, the movie will be titled Skyfall.
Yesterday, producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson introduced the cast of the movie including Daniel Craig as the infamous Agent 007, Judi Dench as M, Naomie Harris (28 Days Later, Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy) as Miss Moneypenny, Javier Bardem as the villain, and French model and actress Bérénice Marlohe. Actors Albert Finney, Ben Whishaw (The Tempest) and Ralph Fiennes (The English Patient) were also confirmed.
"We're so delighted to have Sam Mendes direct Skyfall and be working once again with Daniel Craig. We've a great script, an extraordinary cast and an incredibly talented creative team for this latest James Bond adventure," said Wilson and Broccoli in a statement.
What has yet to be divulged is the plot of Skyfall, which only had a brief summation in the press statement.
In Skyfall, Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
M's past could be tested by Finney, who was reportedly cast as "a Foreign Office mandarin with powers over the Secret Intelligence Service." Either Finney is the cause of M's trouble or Fiennes, who has been rumored to play a "darkly complex" role.

Skyfall was written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade (Quantum of Solace, Casino Royale) and John Logan (The Aviator), and will co-star Helen McCrory (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) in an unspecified role and Rory Kinnear, who will reprise his role from Quantum of Solace as Bill Tanner, M's chief of staff.
