Jersey Shore Jumping the Shark (Attack)

Winter can be a dismal time. There's less sun, it's cold, and it usually means MTV's wildly successful reality show Jersey Shore is between seasons. But worry not because today there is Jersey Shore-related news.
Syfy announced the cast for its 2012 creature feature, Jersey Shore Shark Attack, which features Tony Sirico (The Sopranos), Paul Sorvino (Goodfellas), Jack Scalia (Dallas), Joey Fatone (of 'N Sync fame), and of course, filmmakers were able to shake enough money at one of the Jersey Shore cast members to join, because Vinny Guadagnino is also joining the pic. Didn't know Vinny could act? Then, obviously you missed his breakout roles in 90201 and The Hard Times of RJ Berger where he played Cousin Vinny (yes, a stretch).
We have high hopes for Jersey Shore Shark Attack. Will it live up to the expectations set by Piranhaconda or Sharktopus? Read the synopsis to find out.
Jersey Shore Shark Attack unfolds during the July Fourth weekend at – where else? — the Jersey Shore, where rare swarms of sharks are converging due to illegal underwater drilling. Now the angry sharks are on a rampage, devouring residents, and leaving it up to the locals to try and save the day.
Sirico is Captain Sallie, the wise veteran of boardwalk life and lore. Scalia is Moretti, former Guido beach bum and now police chief. Sorvino portrays the possibly corrupt Mayor and Atherton is the greedy developer Dolan, who wants to tear down the boardwalk to build a luxury resort where the Guidos will not be welcome. Vinny Guadagnino plays the on-scene reporter Conte and Joey Fatone appears as himself.
Sounds like a movie made in cheese heaven. We hope it doesn't put a blemish on the good name that is Jersey Shore.
