Lego "Tribute" to The Hunger Games Trailer

While most of the major studios have been pumping out new promotional materials for their 2012 movies — new posters for The Avengers, a website for The Amazing Spider-Man, and new still images, the first trailer for Prometheus, a new theatrical trailer for The Dark Knight Rises and the first teaser trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey — December was a pretty quiet month when it comes to news about Lionsgate's The Hunger Games, with only a new poster and a line of District-inspired nail polish to whet the appetites of the ravenous "Tributes," "Hunger Gamers" and "Mockingjays" out there.
It's likely because of this dearth of new materials that one fan decided to remake the theatrical trailer for The Hunger Games using those eponymous little Danish toys, Legos. It's not the best homemade animation we've seen, but considering the animator completed the trailer in only two days it's pretty impressive.
Here's the Lego-ized trailer by CarCrashcorp and the original trailer so you can compare the two.
The Hunger Games is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins, who also co-wrote the screenplay adaptation with screenwriter Billy Ray (State of Play). It was directed by Gary Ross (Seabiscuit) and stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Willow Shields as Primrose, Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mallark, Woody Harrelson as Haymith Abernathy, Stanley Tucci as Caesar Flickerman, Wes Bentley as Seneca Crane, Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket, Lenny Kravitz as Cinna, Paula Malcomson as the mother of Katniss and Primrose and Donald Sutherland as President Snow.
