First TV Spot for Ghost Rider: The Spirit of Vengeance Debuts
01.04.12 by Ryan
There are plenty of comic book movies lined up for 2012, but the first to make an appearance is Columbia Pictures' (and Marvel's) Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (a federal judge recently ruled that Marvel owns the rights to the character and not its creator, writer Gary Friedrich, but Columbia owns the movie rights).
Spirit of Vengeance finds Johnny Blaze, aka Ghost Rider (Nicolas Cage), in a different place in his life than in 2007's Ghost Rider. Living in self-imposed exile in Eastern Europe and ignoring his curse as the devil's bounty hunter, Blaze embraces his dark side once more in order to save the life of a 10-year-old boy named Danny (Fergus Riordan) and his mother (Violante Placido) from the devil himself (Ciarán Hinds).
Impressive enough, this time around Ghost Rider can spit bullets and urinate flames (as seen in the sequel's teaser trailer). The first TV spot for the sequel ignores the latter, but does include the spitting bullets part.
Written by Scott M. Gimple (AMC's The Walking Dead), Seth Hoffman (Fox's Prison Break) and David S. Goyer, from a story by Goyer, Spirit of Vengeance was directed by Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine (Crank movies). The movie also stars Idris Elba (Thor) and Johnny Whitworth (Limitless).
