New Trailer for Haywire Blends Action and Story

If there's one thing that the upcoming thriller Haywire hasn't been lacking, it's trailers.
Besides having several TV spots currently airing on television, the previous trailer for Haywire, released in November, focused on a fight scene between Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class) and the movie's lead, MMA fighter Gina Carano, who is attacked by Fassbender after she walks into their hotel room. The international trailer, released in October, showed plenty of Carano's fighting style, including stepping on walls and flipping Channing Tatum onto the ground.
The latest trailer doesn't ignore the footage from those trailers, but adds more of the movie's story — which follows Carano as a covert operative who is double crossed and seeks revenge. It also adds more footage of the movie's supporting cast, which includes Ewan McGregor, Antonio Banderas, Michael Angarano, Bill Paxton and Academy Award winner Michael Douglas.
Here's the official synopsis for Haywire:
Mallory Kane is a highly trained operative who works for a government security contractor in the dirtiest, most dangerous corners of the world. After successfully freeing a Chinese journalist held hostage, she is double crossed and left for dead by someone close to her in her own agency. Suddenly the target of skilled assassins who know her every move, Mallory must find the truth in order to stay alive.
Using her black-ops military training, she devises an ingenious — and dangerous — trap. But when things go haywire, Mallory realizes she’ll be killed in the blink of an eye unless she finds a way to turn the tables on her ruthless adversary.
Directed by Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, Ocean's Eleven), Haywire was written by Lem Dobbs, who previously wrote 1999's The Limey and 1991's Kafka for Soderbergh.
