The Devil Inside Reviews
01.06.12 by reelz
Possession and exorcism are popular themes in the horror movie world; so it wasn't too much of a surprise that one of the first horror movie releases of 2012 would be based on just that, but The Devil Inside certainly hasn't possessed critics — in the good way. With only 8% on Rotten Tomatoes, otherworldly influences may be required to lift this movie from an early grave.
"The mother/daughter drama should have played a bigger part in this film as the 87-minute run-time passes quickly and leaves us feeling utterly short-changed."
— Sara Maria Vizcarrondo, Boxoffice Magazine
"Never are you really invested in any of this, as the movie is pervaded by lead-footed artificiality and the growing stink of crass marketing."
— R. Kurt Osenlund, Slant Magazine
"Far too cheap, familiar and flat-out dull to be frightening."
— Geoff Berkshire, Metromix.com
"It's better when you don't show too much - but if your story is about the supernatural, eventually you're going to have to come up with something. "The Devil Inside" can't."
— Stephen Whitty, Newark Star-Ledger
"Here it is just the first week of January, and already we have a strong candidate for the worst movie of 2012."— Peter Howell, Toronto Star
