New Preview Clip from Underworld: Awakening; Kate Beckinsale Discusses Underworld 5

Sony Screen Gems has peppered audiences with promotional materials for Underworld: Awakening of late, recently revealing the upcoming sequel's first preview clip, and TV spots. Now, another preview has arrived online to get fans excited about the fourth installment in the Vampire vs. Lycan franchise.
Of course, fans of the series are happy to see that Underworld: Awakening has brought back Kate Beckinsale as the leather-clad vampire Selene after skipping out on 2009's prequel Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. So, with a promotional campaign focused solely on her return and directors Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein also admitting that Awakening's ending "is totally leaving the door open for a future," it would seem that plenty is expected of Beckinsale's Selene. During an interview with Collider, the actress was asked if she would return for a fifth installment.
I’m the worst person to ask about this. I always said there wasn’t going to be a fourth one. So you can’t trust what I say at all. I don’t know. Part of me thinks that’s so peculiar to me. I don’t have a background in TV playing the same character for two years in a row. So playing the same character over and over again does seem a bit odd. But I am very fond of the character, and other people are pretty fond of her, too. So who knows? There’s part of me that thinks maybe it’s good to blaze a trail, to be the menopausal action heroine. Give me Underworld 12 and my little beard hairs. Me and Bruce Willis can go toe to toe.
Of course, Awakening has to be a hit first, before other installments can be greenlit. The new preview clip offers a look at Beckinsale in action, battling the uber-lycan shown in the TV spots and trailers for the movie.
Awakening was written by John Hlavin (TV's The Shield) with rewrites by J. Michael Straczynski and co-stars Michael Ealy, Stephen Rea, Charles Dance, and Theo James.
