Horrible Bosses 2 Cast Not Signed Yet

Over the summer, Horrible Bosses was one of several R-rated comedies to find success at the box office, earning $209 million worldwide on a $35 million budget. Shortly after the movie's July opening, director Seth Gordon revealed that a sequel was in discussions, talks which were confirmed last night when Horrible Bosses II was reportedly given the greenlight, with all three leads (Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis) set to return for the sequel. Only, the cast isn't set to return — at least not yet.
While talking to Vulture, Sudeikis revealed that "none" of the cast are signed for the sequel, and the news that the cast were coming back "surprised all of us."
They [screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein] haven’t even written it yet. They’ve only pitched it, the writers, and it’s a little bit of misinformation with regards to that as far as it being, everybody knowing about it and being all-in.
Of course, Sudeikis says that he would "like" to come back for Horrible Bosses II, but seems to be waiting for more progress to be made on the script before signing on.
I’m enthusiastic about the idea. I look forward to reading it. I’m excited that people are enthusiastic about it. I share that same enthusiasm. I really like all those people that are involved. If you hear anything, can you let me know or at least put it in the magazine? And maybe I’ll be made aware of it.
Horrible Bosses followed Sudeikis, Day and Bateman as three friends who decide to kill their respective employers (Colin Farrell, Jennifer Aniston, and Kevin Spacey) after getting advice from a murder consultant (Jamie Foxx). Where a sequel will go is anybody's guess, and likely once Goldstein and Daley figure out what Horrible Bosses II will be about, Sudeikis, Day and Bateman will sign on.
