Last November, the plot synopsis that accompanied the teaser trailer for The Expendables 2 revealed that two new members (Liam Hemsworth and Yu Nan) would be joining the the action movie star super-group featured in the 2010 original. While Hemsworth will be more recognizable to audiences after appearing in 2010's The Last Song and, later this year, in The Hunger Games, Yu last (and only) English-language movie appearance was in 2008's Speed Racer. Luckily for Yu, the Chinese-born actress appears in both of the new photos for the Expendables 2 released by Comingsoon, either walking or crouching behind a car alongside Sylvester Stallone.
Directed by Simon West, The Expendables 2 will see Stallone, Yu, Hemsworth and the rest of the group (Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture and Terry Crews) recruited once again by Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) for another seemingly easy and profitable job, When one of the Expendables is killed, the group seeks revenge. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jean-Claude Van Damme co-star. The Expendables 2 is due Aug. 17th.
Two new photos have also arrived for another 2012 sequel — Men in Black III. The first photo, revealed by The LA Times, shows Agent J (Will Smith) and Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) back at work patrolling the streets for alien activity and erasing the minds of innocent human bystanders that possibly see more than they should have.
The third installment in the Men in Black franchise sees Agent J go back in time to meet the younger version of Agent K (Josh Brolin) in order to save his partner's life. While much of the sequel will take place in the 1960s, the technology will still be futuristic, as the second photo, released by Entertainment Weekly (via SuperHeroHype), reveals Smith riding some kind of circular motorcycle next to Brolin.
Men in Black III was written by a series of writers, including Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder), David Koepp (Jurassic Park), Jeff Nathanson and Michael Soccio (TV's The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air). Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black, Men in Black II) directed the sequel, which co-stars Emma Thompson, Betty White, Nicole Scherzinger, and Jemaine Clement. Men in Black III opens May 25th.
